Submitted by hishadow on Mon, 09/05/2005 - 03:02.My expectations for this movie are at rock bottom. I & II was a total letdown. There's also too much over-commercialisation of the SW product.
(and...I'll probably watch it anyway :))

Submitted by SciFi fan on Wed, 11/05/2005 - 03:30.Yeah, there's a lot of justifiable angst running around the Star Wars Universe. But personally I really liked the movies, even Jar-Jar. However with this final flick, we all already know exactly what's going to happen so it's been hard for me to look forward to it too much.
So when I heard that Wayne Pygram was playing Tarkin really got me a bit more excited. :D

Submitted by Flamegrape on Thu, 12/05/2005 - 13:00.NO, I HAVEN'T SEEN IT BEFORE. THANKS FOR THE SPOILER.
God DAMN it! I've been trying so hard to avoid spoilers. Don't assume that everyone on the internet is a Star Wars fan that desperately seeks out and gobbles up every bit of spoiler data like a heroin junkie fighting over the last of the stash.
SHEESH!
 :x  :x
THANKS AGAIN!

For someone trying "hard" to avoid spoilers you clicked on a thread you knew would contain them to nitpick. And if you call this a "Spoiler", you're seriously a nut. I mean come'on how hostile can you get over something totally as mundane as this?!
By the way, Darth Vader is Lukes father...
:P

Submitted by Sidhecafe on Thu, 12/05/2005 - 19:28.What a great choice for Tarkin!!! I LOVE it!!!
Such a great actor, and perfect for this insidious Empire man...I mean he and Vader actually worked pretty well together in Episode IV. Destroying Alderan and torturing Princess Leia...
YEAH!!! Can't wait to see this new movie and THEN I'll judge. There's no point being all negative until after you've actually seen something to have an opinion of!!
Everyone can bitch after the movie comes out. I'm just happy to be looking forward to seeing it so I can make up my own mind.
Re: Pygram/Scorpius in Episode III
Submitted by Flamegrape on Fri, 13/05/2005 - 01:54.The fact that Tarkin is in Episode III is a HUGE spoiler! You could have given warning! Most people who put SPOILERS in their threads put "*SPOILER*" in the thread title.
But since you're moderator, I guess you can get away with sneering at me, insulting me and don't need to apologize, right?
Seeya, jerk!
Re:Pygram/Scorpius in Episode III
Submitted by Tiefling on Fri, 13/05/2005 - 04:52.From what I understand it isn't an important role, just one scene, with Tarkin standing beside Vader and Palpatine, he dosn't even have any lines...
And I thought that the title of the thread made it fairly obvious that there would be spoilers.

You see that title. By clicking on it, you should immediately recognize that you will find out what he has to do with Ep 3. If you think Grand Moff Tarkin is a "Spoiler" well kid, you're about 30 years too late on that one. As someone who only has a passing interest in "Star Wars" I still know that his character was a long standing Governor. And while you pull your hair out and scream to the rooftops, every single magazine from Time to Newsweek to the Communist Review have all posted their reviews on this film already without warning of spoilers, without large blocks of white-space even while spilling the details of every single plot point. And yet you want a Sci-Fi site to do this for you on something as mundane as this?!?
Not to mention the forum I posted this in was not the Star Wars forum, it was not the General Forum. It was the Farscape forum. You know... for fans of Farscape, who might like to know what their favorite actors are up to. No different than when I posted that Ben Browder was on Stargate. No different when I posted that Claudia Black was on Stargate. Where were you then Flamegrape?
So knowing that, and claiming to be doing everything you possibly can to avoid Star Wars spoilers, why on earth would you click on this thread with the words "Episode III" in it? Is it possible that a Star Wars fan you claim to be might confuse Episode III with something else? I think not.
There is absolutely no possibility of the title being so ambigious, that you just clicked on it and it ruined your life. Unless this is your first time on a message board ever....in which case I would offer a full apology. But this is normal "Flamegrape" You swore at me, you compared me to a heroin addict (something patently obvious is a mirror of your own self loathing), you were just downright nasty about it. And not to mention extraordinarly ego-centric for not sending me a PM to fix it and avoid spoiling others. Instead you wrote an insanely over the top rant that frankly has me a bit worried about your state of mind.

Submitted by Headgehog on Fri, 13/05/2005 - 17:53.Wow, that is creepy, yet very appropriate. I knew Tarkin would be in the movie, and having a Farscape actor in SW, sort of went without saying. I mean there aren't that many actors in Australia to begin with, and many of them were on Farscape at one point or another. I wonder if there are any other Farscape alumni in the movie.
I think this thread should be made into a news story for the front page.
I'm with hisshadow. I'm not expecting a lot out of the film. And if it weren't Star Wars, I'd likely wait for it to be out on video. My angst isn't with the storyline, but more with the disgusting acting and direction from episodes I and II. The worst part is that I know that a few cast members can do a MUCH better job than they did. It’s as if they didn't rehearse, and were given their lines as the camera was rolling.

I don't think that's the acting so much as the directing.....
Re:Pygram/Scorpius in Episode III
Submitted by Headgehog on Fri, 13/05/2005 - 20:21.You're right. But I said a few cast members. Some immediately come to mind who are incapable of acting.
Re:Pygram/Scorpius in Episode III
Submitted by Sidhecafe on Mon, 16/05/2005 - 14:16.Headgehog, yeah you're right too...I also tend to forget about the details of Ep I, and many of the secondary characters do just tend to spew some lines.
Saw the preview for Ep III Saturday. It's just so exciting!!!
Re:Pygram/Scorpius in Episode III
Submitted by Berzerker on Wed, 18/05/2005 - 16:26.Yeah espically that in this movie we're going to have Chewy, and come on how can Hayden Christensen be out acted by a dog...Oh wait nevermind, I just answered my own question. I think when I see the Vader mask on for the first time in this movie, I'll be cheering. Not because the birth of Vader begins, but because I won't have to put up with Hayden's acting ever again.
