    Hi again Fellow Lexxians ,
Today, in case, no one noticed, is the 12th Anniversary of ADA (American Disabilities Act); it was signed by Father George Bush, which his son is now President. It was inacted to help those of us with every kind of handicap get employment, `low-income’ housing & the like :eek ; it’s been 12 yrs. to the day, & all that’s happened is ramps put in , handicap parking put in place , & some other things like that; however, not very many of us handicapped folk has been employed or even considered , no `low-income’ housing in every community that has middle-high income housing & the looks we handicapped people get are not what we hoped for or want .
I don’t want any of you nice Lexxians & non-Lexxian fans alike to feel sorry for us or even to have pity on us handicapped folk; all we handicapped people want is to have the same kind of respect & have every American abide by ADA & not sue under ADA cause your employer touched you the wrong way or your landlord/lady kicked you out or something, then & only then will this country be truely free & the Lady in the NY Harbor will have meaning again.
Let’s all celebrate ADA’s 12th Anniversary as Americans should celebrate & let’s all get along & enjoy life the way it was meant & show other countries all over the world how free we Americans really are.
Take care & Happy ADA Anniversary to all handicapped & non-handicapped people alike.

Well, Jhevz, when I notice people looking at me funny, I just smile back at them.

When a child asks what’s wrong with my legs, I explain my legs don’t work right and these things I’m wearing help me to walk.

When an adult expresses sympathy, I say “Don’t feel sorry for me, feel glad. Thanks to these things I can walk again.”

Thanks for making everyone aware of the ADA, and Happy Anniversary to you, too.

    Hey Micromary,
I too just smile when people look at me funny; if they ask me what’s with the cane, I just tell them that sometimes my feet get to hurting, so I use it as another leg, but I just lean on it. I also tell them that without supports like these, people like me would have trouble getting around.
Thanks for the note & for letting me know how good I did for letting others know about ADA. Also thanks for the Happy 12th Anniversary of ADA; I really appreciate it.
Take care & have a great Summer.
