Apologies to the US peeps
I use the term “the states” as well when I’m talking to people outside.. the states.. But what do I know.. my speech patterns and pronounciations have been infected by watching way too much Red Dwarf and Doctor Who.
I love to immitate British aXXents, but I only hear them on TV and usually SciFi shows that take place away from Earth, so I don’t know what region and class I’m mimicking half the time.
America is a cool and wacky place. Unfortunately as DalekTek790 proves which each post, the stupid people are always the most vocal. Probably because stupid people ask more questions or think they know more than anyone else thus feeling the need to open their traps.
How else do you think a cocaine snorting president got elected? And he was our Govenor in TeXas for the longest. I had a hard enough time with employment then, but now that he’s running the whole country.. God help us!! and I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that since Bush took over prices have inflated and we’re suddenly in a recession.
I know “smeghead” got started in Red Dwarf, but what about “git”?
