Oh, it’s a lot. He’s a cantankerous old salt, to be sure.

[b]i’m ashamed to say i haven’t read deathbird or a boy and his dog…i’m a relative newcomer to the works of ellison and my local bookstore isn’t too helpful…so far all i’ve been able to pick up are edgeworks vol. one and a copy of the original teleplay for “city on the edge of forever”…i want to read more of his stuff!!

…And well you should! He’s done some amazing stuff. “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream” is perhaps one of the greatest sci-fi works, nay, one of the greatest pieces of fiction I have ever read. And I could say that for a number of his works. Just look for any decent anthology (I’ve got “The Essential Ellison” and it’s pretty definitive, though there are a few things I wish were in there, but ain’t that always the way?) and pick it up. Then read it. A number of times.
