What??? When did the Beans give HDS *any* pathos? You’ve *never* addressed this question. There is *nothing* sympathetic about HDS, other than some extremely peculiar sympathy you happen to have for him. And Mantrid is “a greater evil???” An impotent, bodiless bio-vizier? Someone who hasn’t even been able to leave his pathetic planet? If anything, HDS’ closer parallel in the STAR WARS universe is Emperor Palpatine. Your theory puts Mantrid at the charge of HDS’ empire, with HDS as, as you said, a “figurehead.” Which is just wrong. It has no basis in the text.
