Although I’m happy got Donovan and Company, I can’t help but think their acquisition of Salter may not neccessarily be a good thing for Lexx. Alliance is associated with the Roddenberry Cadre and Majel will be hard pressed not to put her own fingerprint on the shows produced by Salter. Lexx certainly does not fit her mold. I suspect we will not see a season 5 for Lexx.
I’m with Aleck. It may not be such a bad thing, especially if Lexx is making money for the company. Sure, they’re down in the ratings now, but the Monday time slot and lack of promotion by SciFi could have something to do with that.
But anyway, if Lexx is profitable, Alliance will be hard pressed to give it the boot because of so-called “moral outrage.” It’s all about the Benjamins (or Canadian equivalent ) and there’s really nothing more risque on Lexx than you would find on, say, NYPD Blue (envelope-pushin’, fat guy ass-barin’, salty language-talkin’ US cop show for those of you who don’t know ).
I suppose whether or not Lexx continues into a 5th season would depend on Donovan’s desire to do it, the actors’ schedules, etc.
