Thanks FX, just the sort of ideas I was thinking about. Also the term “decarbonized” suggests that he requires protoblood due to the fact that not only is he dead, but he is also no longer completely organic. I’m guessing that the Insects from which the protoblood naturally comes from are also not carbon based in order to survive in space.
This also makes me think another thing; is he the same Brunnen G warrior who died defending his planet? After death, decarbonization, mechanisation, programming to his Divine Shadow’s will and the absorpion of the memories of every assasination victim he killed (including the Divine Shadows’ and his own), the Kai in the series has only the Brunnen G chant he sings as an echo of his past life.

Anyway, any more ideas on Kai’s insides (or self identity [img]http://www.sadgeezer.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img] ) will be appreciated by someone with way too much time on his hands…
