Oh, I’d believe it. There is a talk-radio station nearby that starts talking about sports from 3pm until 11pm. And all they talk about, year round, is Vol (american) football. (The Volunteers is the college team that plays for the University of Tennessee.) Yes, even in bloody MARCH there are jackasses calling up the show asking about theoretical bowl games the Vols might play… and american football season doesn’t start until SEPTEMBER!

One thing to note about soccer on american television. They have been showing World Cup matches [b]without commercial interruption![/b] Completely amazing! Maybe not so suprising for ESPN, but they did it on ABC too! Or course they have commercials at hallf-time break, but that’s to be expected. But I think most of the matches are pre-recorded and I don’t know how long that break is in between the 45-minute rounds. Or whatever. (I need to read up on the rules of the game!)
