Jackson, Bloom and McKellen to Host The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Plus a Hobbit Update
How do you stretch an awesome epic three hour movie into a four hour broadcasting slot? Happily, according to BBC America, not just by adding an hour of commercials. When they broadcast The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers this Sunday, they’re bringing along a few familiar faces to chat about the movie:

They’re taking a break from the filming of the sequel to THE HOBBIT for some candid conversation and inside stories from the filming of THE LORD OF THE RINGS.
Here’s hoping we’ll get a bit of Hobbit news as well. Speaking of which, earlier this week Peter Jackson posted this on his Facebook page:
Any day you can cover the wonderful Jimmy Nesbitt and his fellow dwarves in cobwebs is a good day! Work continues on pick ups here in Wellington, with a new video blog in the final stages of post and out very soon!
We will OF COURSE post that video blog as soon as it’s available.

Guillermo Del Toro Has Big Plans Should PACIFIC RIM Do Well at the Box Office
We’ve been covering the awesome Jaeger and Kaiju goodness coming out of Guillermo Del Torro’s Pacific Rim. It looks awesome, but it’s hard to give a firm verdict until we’ve seen the movie. But the feedback from the hype must be positive since we’re already hearing “sequel” being whispered.
According to Deadline director Guillermo Del Toro is already working on a pitch for the second Pacific Rim installment and more, saying,
Having had two to three years pass from the first Pacific Rim to the second movie, we can also prepare a good video game, continue the graphic novel and continue the mythology.
Later in the article they say that Legendary CEO Thomas Tull is more concerned with the current Pacific Rim and wants to wait and see some box office numbers.
We’ll keep you posted on everything we hear for a possible sequel to Pacific Rim.

All Hail the Trailer and Premiere Date for Cartoon Network’s BEWARE THE BATMAN
The last footage we posted for Cartoon Network‘s Beware the Batman came in April of last year. We got the poster even earlier. But after that tease we were forced to wait, and wait. Then we were promised this January that we’d be getting the series this summer, and now it looks like this will actually be happening next month, when the series premieres Saturday morning, July 13 at 10/9c. Finally!
To celebrate, Cartoon Network has released this trailer for the season:
Trailer: Beware the Batman – Cartoon Network Sizzle Reel
Okay, okay, let’s get to it!
Here’s a reminder of the synopsis, and that teaser trailer and poster from last year:
Coming soon to Cartoon Network! A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals, Beware the Batman, based on characters from DC Comics, is coming to Cartoon Network’s DC Nation block in Summer 2013.
Teaser Trailer: Beware the Batman
Can’t wait to check this out.
