Maybe someone here can help me out.
In the 80s I saw this movie on cable. It was about 4 aliens crashing on earth. One is separated from the rest, and the three others become famous on a rock star scale and become rich and famous while the fourth (their commander) is down and out and searching for them. Of course all three of the famous aliens are complete morons and they’re not telling the public about their commander.
Here’s the thing: I can’t remember the title of the movie despite seeing it a hundred times in one month (you know how cable does that). I can’t remember who was in it, except that the commander alien sure looked alot like phil collins.
Do you have a clue what I’m talking about? If so I’d really appreciate the title to this. I would like to find it on ebay or elsewhere and see it again.
Thanks.

No, that’s not it, because no one gets separated, and no one becomes rich and famous (though the aliens are popular at a local dance club, if memory serves). I am *almost* certain that it’s Morons From Outer Space, which is a pretty charming little satire from what I remember (I think I saw it at least 10 years ago). Do the aliens become regulars on a talk show or something like that? Try doing a Google search for that title and see if it fits. It’s got Mel Smith in it, if that rings any bells.

Clay you were so close to the title in your telling of the movie. Its … Morons from Space. Its not Phil Collins but a brit. actor I have seen elsewhere but dont know his name. Its a very funny movie and have seen it in video from time to time so you could rent it.

Hey, Guys and everybody. Thanks for helping me out. That’s kinda been a mind screw for several years and as I describe it to folks, you’d think it never existed.

Anyway, speaking of Earth Girs Are Easy, Jeff Goldblum was in that. So was Geena Davis and before he was famous, Jim Carrey and I think one of the Wayans.
