ParticipantOk i’m in the US and my area just saw the episode “Music of a Distant Drum”were Tyr crash lands on that planet and loses his memory… anyway in this episode he almost kisses a “human” right??
—–I just read that summary for the epsiode FORCED PERSECTIVE?? I think and in it Tyr says to Beka that he would never do any thing “sexual” with anyone other then his own race….. Now my question is this….” Did this episode happen before or after the “almost” kiss and if so did he change his mind???” This is very weird to me so I thought I would pose this question to other people to see if they have any Idea! Thanks !!

“Late in the year,New Orleans still has its hot days. In the slave quaters, Jay and Tran blossomed like the giant stinking carrion-flowers that grow in humid jungles. Their ravaged abdomens swelled and burst like red-petals, a jubliee of rot. Their putrescent fluids pooled on the concrete floor and in the hollows of their disintegrating bodies. …Their faces, c**** and B**** grew into shapeless masses of blackened flesh. Swollen tongues like ball gags forced their jaws wide. Organs tumbled out of their bodies like distended winebags. From their decomposition rose wisps of steam and soft wet sounds of gaseous intimacy….tran fell out of his binding straps and melted slowly into Jay’s ribcage. A large, faintly iridescent stain ate up the concrete floor around them. Their eyes were black caverns. They gave birth to worms, generation after generation, until their bodies were covered as if in a living blanket. Soon they were picked clean, their bones an ivory sculpture-puzzle shining in the dark, waiting to tell their mute love story.[This message has been edited by Christine Carroll (edited February 16, 2001).]

GuestI spotted this too. I don’t know which way round the epiodes should be broadcast but I can only assume that the near kiss was in the heat of the moment.
I think the conversation between Tyr and Beka was there to create a little sexual tension between the two characters, it worked too (look at their reactions at the end of the episode when Dylan and Trance return).

GuestI think it’s possible that Tyr (my GAD that man in gorgeous!) is starting to learn or rethink a lot of things, with his close associations with his new crew members. Certainly, he’s become more compassionate and tolerant, even when it didn’t directly benefit him and/or propagating his family/bloodline. I like watching his character grow. Hell, I like watching his character!

“Oh! You think what? You think Claudius murdered your Dad? Well, no wonder you’ve been so rude to him at the dinner table! If I’d known that, I could have put you straight in no time flat.It wasn’t Claudius, darling.
It was me.

ParticipantYou know what? I just thought of something, in the episode “Music of a Distant Drum” Tyr’s hair was different his braides were thicker and there were less of them…. ( I guessing he had his Braides redone) And since I have a lot of black friends with braids I know they don’t change the style of them very often… also Tyr’s new Do’ has no impact on the show so I’m guessing that if we watch the next few eps we can deturme what order “Forced Persecetive” and “Music of a Distant Drum” come in to play whether or not he said no “sex” with any other race but his own before or after the “all most kiss” in “Music of a Distant Drum”. GuestTyr wasn’t himself. He won’t mate with regular humans–ever. Why? He thinks humans are inferior.

GuestHmm. The wierd part is that the episode “Music” played on TV first while this site has it up second (after “Perspective”). I’m pretty sure that Tyr’s kiss was just heat of the moment if it came first, and that he decided that maybe he shouldn’t be so anti-human if it came second.
