Favourite pairings?

I don’t think the most popular pairings are f/f and m/m because of the sc-fi element but rather personal preference, but if i had to pick it’d either be Rommie and Dylan or Beka and Tyr, ok so their a bit bland but im a stickler for the classic combination. Plus theres always ben such great interacting between them and it would be nice to see them get a little lovin’in between the constant attacks and death defying missions.

I’m apparently in the minority, but I don’t generally like slash myself; it doesn’t usually feel ‘right’ to me, unless I think a character seems to be bi or gay or even just open to new ways of thinking. Watching a show and seeing no signs of attraction to the same sex, then reading a fanfic where Rommie and Beka and Trance or Harper and Tyr and Dylan are getting it on is just kind of a weird stretch (although on the latter count, I might like to watch… [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] ). It’s like if Tyr did something totally self-sacrificial, or if Beka was submissive, or if Trance was reminiscing about her past, or if Harper was… well, not interested in a beautiful woman, heheh.

I like a combination of plot, character fidelity (you know, making the characters seem like themselves, however wildly they may evolve over the course of a story… I’ll read anything, no matter how odd it seems, if the author makes the change feel natural. That goes for slash, too) and sex, not just porn with the characters’ names slapped on it. That’s not always easy to find.

I’m also rather fond of outside pairings. I absolutely LOVED that episode with Beka and the Cat; it was so poignant. I’d love to see a fic featuring those two again. I crave new characters in the mix, but I only like them if they’re well drawn and I can relate to them (such as that thief fellow). I know, I know; I sound really picky. I’m not, though–I can enjoy lots of kinds of fic, I just generally don’t spend much time trying to appreciate them unless they suck me in.

Could you point me to that highest-rated het fic? I’d really like to check it out. I haven’t read much Andromeda fic thus far.

The most popular het fic is ‘Compatible’ by Marianas. It’s a Trance/Harper NC17.

And for Tyr/Trance shippers there is ‘Trance is What?’ and ‘Alterations’ by luvreading. My orgy fic ‘Rev’s Treat’ also has some Tyr/Trance action. [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

However, there seems to be a serious lack of imagination with most of the fic writers out there. What about the wild opportunity to include some of those amazing robots with breasts in such fic. And amazingly, I haven’t seen any reference to Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum – with names like that!

Personally I think that there is a lot of scope for a Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum romance (and particularly the possible transformer-like opportunities for Tweedle Dum’s groinal attachments). Tweedle Dee could be all coy and shy but get real turned on when she uses her big guns erm…
