Well, I don’t know why this bothers me so much, but it does. I guess I should be glad that it’s going to have a 4th season, but why must it move to Mondays!? I’m not a fan of the Monday shows! But, then again, I guess the only show that I have to look forward to on Fridays now is Farscape.

——————
“I love you” “I know” – Princess Leia and Han Solo
“First you wanna kill me, now you wanna kiss me, blow” – Ash from Army of Darkness
“Darling, you idiot!” – Lum from Urusei Yatsura
“Who is this Anya!? Is she prettier than me!?” Xander’s sock puppet friend from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I’d like to think they moved it so they could show more skin than on Friday. Most children(What are children)are not in front of the tv because it is a school night.

Actually, they moved it to mondays because with the addition of Black Scorpian and Jules Verne (who’s spinning in his grave) there were too many shows to fit in the prime time slot, to they split it up into two nights.

I was poking around on the FAQs pages of SciFi and this was what I found about general show changes:

“…The reason it was moved is the same reason it was scheduled where it was in the first place, namely ratings. A program is scheduled in the hopes of getting good ratings and of helping the shows around it get good ratings. A show is given a new timeslot in the hopes of raising its ratings overall, or raising the ratings of its new timeslot, or of raising the ratings of its old timeslot, and hopefully the ratings of the shows around those time slots.”

I guess it’s a programming thing. Hey, I’ve never been one to understand gerbil logic. I’m just glad they’ve got the blasted show!

That’s what I’m thinking. More people in general are home on Monday nights than on Fridays, when a huge chunk of the potential audience is going to be out doing “weekend” things. Not as many people go out and do things on Mondays, since they’re settling in after the weekend, maybe have jobs to go to in the mornings. It’s in the 10pm slot, where there is a lack of significant network programming (except for news and magazine programs), so they’re set for maximum rating potential in the long run. Plus, they’ve got a bunch of new shows, and it’s best to put the new ones in a time slot where they can build up a small but loyal audience (yet keeping one “name” show in the lineup to attract the audience), and move the established shows to a night where more people will be able to tune in (thus generating more advertising revenue for the channel).

I has so angry about Sci-fi moving Lexx to Monday night I even wrote them a letter. But betting that gerbils can’t read I never got a response – didn’t think I would anyway.

I will continue to follow it on that night even if it means pulling my sleepy butt in work the next day. I miss being able to go online and chat or even post with fell Lexx addicts due to the late hour.

Sigh… I guess the gerbils that be, may have some yet un announced master plan… Nah… :rolleyes

“Late in the year,New Orleans still has its hot days. In the slave quaters, Jay and Tran blossomed like the giant stinking carrion-flowers that grow in humid jungles. Their ravaged abdomens swelled an burst like red-petals, a jubliee of rot. their putrescent fluids pooled on the concrete floor and in the hollows of their disintegrating bodies. …Their faces, c**** and B**** grew into shapeless masses of blackened flesh. Swollen tongues like ball gags forced their jaws wide. Organs tumbled out of their bodies like distended winebags. From their decomposition rose wisps of steam and soft wet sounds of gaseous intimacy….tran fell out of his binding straps and melted slowly into Jay’s ribcage. A large, faintly iridescent stain ate up the concrete floor around them. Their eyes were black caverns. they gave birth to worms, generation aftergeneration, until their bodies were covered as if in a living blanket. Soon they were picked clean, their bones as ivory sculpture-puzzle shining in the dark, waiting to tell their mute love story.

Happy 17th, Christine! That was a pretty distur…uh, interesting, yeh, interesting quote about the corpses there. Well, I don’t know about a release date for the new eps, since they’re still being filmed. But, it looks like the repeats of Lexx begin in March, with “Fire and Water.”

Happy 17th to you as well, Christine!
I don’t want to say anything specific, since it hasn’t been announced yet, but…

D’ya know how folks have been saying that LEXX is moving back to Friday Prime on the Sci Fi Channel on July 20th?
I’m *really, really* looking forward to July.

I saw part of the UK Sci-focus on Lexx.. one of the reasons I started watching in the first place.. but I never saw all of it, nor do I have it on tape
Hopefully it will (or maybe has been.. I can’t afford all the tapes) be on one of the Contender vids or DVDs (again though, can’t even afford the payer let alone the discs).

Just about everything else on TV (i am in the U.S.) is as dull as dishwater! I think that the sci-fi channel is pushing lexx to the side to make room for its other, less bizzaar offerings. Farscape is especially ennui-inducing lately. Visonary writers are not in demand in the us tv market! When I discovered Lexx last summer it was like a breath of fresh air! PS does any one know if its true that M. McMannus has a role on a Jules Verne episode? If so which one?
