i found this while posting on the new forum for LOTR. i just love this speech by G’kar.
The universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. The language is not Narn or human or Centauri or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the language of hope. It speaks in the language of trust. It speaks in the language of strength and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul. But always it is the same voice. It is the voice of our ancestors speaking through us…and the voice of our inheritors waiting to be born. It is the small still voice that says: we are one – no matter the blood, no matter the skin, no matter the world, no matter the star. We are one. No matter the pain, no matter the darkness, no matter the loss, no matter the fear. We are one. Here, gathered together in common cause, we agree to recognize this singular truth…and this singular rule: that we must be kind to one another. Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us. And each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light the way to a better future. We are one. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart, I am death incarnate, and the last living thing that you will ever see. God sent me!
That’s such a great line. Except I forgot to record it whenit was on today. But I did get Sheridan’s “Now get the Hell out of our galaxy!”. And as soon as I figure out how to upload soemthing to my sadgeezer account I post the link. I’ll do G’Kar’s “Decloration of Principles” when that episode airs next week.25th January 2002 at 12:38 pm #58300AnonymousGuest *sigh* i really miss Ivanova. and yes she had alot of great lines in the series. oh yes that one is one of my favorites and the other top one i like the best is (not an exact quote!) “Boom, boom, boom boom maybe not today but tomorrow boom!” ok i now this is nowhere near an accurate quote so if some has the exact quote let me know please. and why do i keep thinking that she said this in the movie “Third Space”? In one episode (I forget which) he is giving a reading from the Book of G’Kar, and one of the Narns asks him “What is truth? And what is God?” He gives him a real insightful answer. But the Narns aren’t satisfied with that answer, so they ask him again, and he just tells them what they want to hear.
