Saw an ad earlier this evening for the ‘In the Beginning’ movie on DVD. Apperently it’s out here in the UK on Monday. Does this mean that it’s at least likely that all of B5 is going to end up on DVD? which would be typical, as i don’t have a DVD player (yet) and i’ve already spent a small fortune on collecting the series on video…and on that score…i found out a few weeks ago that the cheapo bookstore chain, The Works, was selling the videos off for £3 a pop- so i started buying them, as i currently only have the series on tapes from the tv some of which are a little rough. I now have 24 of the original B5 videos, but they are becoming more difficult to get hold of cheaply (well seeing as i’ve started the collection, i might as well finish it!). £3 a go has spoilt me a little, so if anyone knows where i can purchase more at a half-decent price, i’d be grateful if you could let me know! thanks! 11th April 2002 at 4:51 pm #58354AnonymousGuestThe info is a bit difficult (for me anyway) to find on the Lurkers Guide.
I found two snippets of info The Rumour Mill
quote:
Taken from the above page:
3/5/02We’ve got word of more TV product coming on DVD later this year. Bits reader John B. send us proof that Columbia House is offering both Babylon 5 and I Love Lucy as TV series that you can collect on DVD through them. Our sources tell us that more Babylon 5 episodes will be released widely in stores on DVD by Warner later this year. They also tell us that Paramount plans to debut I Love Lucy as well (sometime in the summer). More when we have it…
I also spotted this earlyer report which seems to confirm that this is more than a rumour:
Looks like Warner will finally make all you Babylon 5 fans happy, by releasing the complete first season of the series on DVD this fall. We’re waiting for more details on this release, but we’ve been told Warner intends to release a lot of TV product before the year is over. And word is they’re happy with sales of the single B5 disc they’ve released thus far. The B5: Legend of the Rangers fan site’s heard something similar, so we’ll keep a close eye on the situation.
