SadGeezer
KeymasterI’ve seen a couple of episodes on a TV channel in the UK called CNX and was so impressed I bought the DVD set.
One of the best buys I’ve ever made!
It’s a VERY stylish Anime Sci Fi series with a story arc and the most unusual soundtrack I’ve ever heard for a sci fi show. Bloody great!
Newkate was telling me that with the terrible amount of sci fi dross on the TV channels lately, more and more people have been getting their sci fi fix from Anime – apparently it’s undergoing something of a revival – Do you know if this is true? It certainly seems that way!

ParticipantI really like that show too! But I can’t seem to figure out why that girl can’t pull her jacket up onto her shoulders.

What! Yes you can. 🙂
It’s the same reason why she wont fasten the two buttons on her flimsey shorts so that they look as if they’re gonna fall down any second. It’s to tantilise us and get us blokes all hot and bothered. 😀

Me and Newkate are only half way through the DVD set… it just gets better and better 🙂
The only thing that pisses me off is that all the interview seem to be in Japanese and don’t have translations either in subtitles or audio!?! Maybe I’ve got a faulty DVD – It’s a bummer though – I particularly wanted to hear the interview of the young (?!?!?!) woman that did the soundtrack.

GuestThey recently made a feature-length movie, although there has not been an announced date for DVD yet, that I am aware of. It’s called Knocking on Heaven’s Door and takes place in the 20ish area (that is, it takes place in the space between 2 of the episodes, chronologically).
Cowboy Bebop is hands down my favorite Anime series.

InactiveI have to admit to never having seen Cowboy Bebop. On the topic of Anime though, ADV have finally started releasing the Evangelion series on DVD in the UK (and the 2nd movie will be out soon from Manga).
At the moment I’m downloading Angelic Layer and X fansubs, and anxiously awaiting Kiddy Grade 16 as it should have just aired in Japan..15th February 2003 at 1:03 am #65000Anonymous
GuestExcellent Cat! I’ll look out for them. Flame 🙂 A total hussey! – godda love her though 🙂
And Storm – THE FILM IS OUT, just seen it and been blown away! (the film is not dubbed – subs only) It’s a different production than the series, the animation is better and the soundtrack is worse, but the film is definately worth seeing! – really cool!

GuestI’ve seen some episodes on Cartoon Network, but watching dubbed anime depresses me…so I don’t do it unless I’m desperate for an anime fix.
I have the song “The Real Folk Blues” on a CD I made…gotta love Japanese songs that have a single line in English.

GuestI haven’t done a side by side comparison, but the English dub on the DVDs is surprisingly good.
