I went to the Orlando Mega Con and enjoyed the Lexxian get together. I am still debating traveling to Vegas Con. The 400 dollar tickets are sold out according to the latest at their web site. Honestly, I don’t think there is a con I’d go to for that kind of money. I’m thinking going for just a day and wondered who else here at Sad’s might be attending this con as well. I did go ahead and sign up for the party with the cast members. [/b]
Pray come to Atlanta, Nwmonikr. It will be a much more alternate sci-fi freindly con. Also there is so much to see! Duct tape watching is just not for guys ya know!
Affordable tickets for the Las Vegas convention will go on sale soon, possibly in June. The $400 tickets went on sale first as part of a marketing ploy.
About 30 to 40 people have signed up for the party in Vegas. And since people have been complaining about expensive convention tickets and expensive hotels (and advised to go to DragonCon instead) there will probably be a minimal amount of [i]Lexx[/i] fans in attendance. Because it’s a [i]Star Trek[/i] convention, it will be much more formal. And DragonCon will be a madhouse in comparison with many, many more [i]Lexx[/i] fans.

I prefer referring to Dragon Con as “highly organized, all-inclusive chaos guided by reins of steel” rather than a “madhouse” (at least to the LEXX parts of this years events!) And you are right about the fans….there will be a whole lotta them! They’ll create quite an impact, I imagine! Exciting stuff!!!!DC last year had a relatively small group of LEXXians but as with LEXXians everywhere we managed to make our own fun.
I found it fascinating that though not well repped at DC many peeps knew what the show was; even the MC’s at the costume judging knew XEV was part cluster lizard for he mentioned it while our intrepid group either entered or left the stage; I don’t remember which.
So either in Vegas or DC you have a great time; nw!

It sure was! My only regret was that in the 68 hours I spent in Atlanta last year, only a few of them was with you guys! I’m still kicking myself over that one! Next time…PLEASURE before business! 😉😛 Oops! Almost forgot…

Same goes for May! And we can hope some charismatic gent inclined to show up as Prince is about to complete the picture!Anyway, there is only a 50/50 chance I’ll be in costume.
Also, Wists outfit looks pretty simple…we need a season 1 Zev, too! We also desperately need a GIGGEROTTA, but such a costume as that would probably be as hard to make as Vlad (unless of course, you’re HDS!) My only bummer problem is that I would love to go in costume but am not talented enough to make one and dont know where to buy one and dont have much money left to purchase it if i found one 🙄 I am guessing that the best I can do is color my hair blue and be season one zev, sort of, I do have blue eyes,that helps…..maybe i can find a cheap skimpy blue outfit to wear……or thefrey mentioned to me about someone who is needing some minions……I could make a fine minion 😈 Oh well, I am just glad to be attending!

Yeah, I’m doing the “South American Grand Tour” type of traveling and going by bus. I don’t know…. you meet some characters by bus…. but it’s a long ride. It’s just important I arrive in one piece
Anyway, I arrive on Friday around 4pm. Then I’ll probably go get my badge check out the party site and then go to the store and then possibly crash for a while. I’m at the (Zuper) Super 8.
I always travel cheap; that way if something happens with my Dad who has been ill then I can drop and go when I need to.
So those of you that might feel uncomfortable doing this alone or if you just want to go as a group; this is what the little wheels are turning out. After you give me some time; does anyone want to meet for dinner on Friday night; I know where the Atlanta Hard Rock Cafe is; there is a lot on Peachtree so we can pick something out. We will go early enough so we can “freshen up” before the Mixer.
If not, I’ll go it alone and see you all there at the Mixer.
Sure, mandara k , i am bringing mom, but she is’nt going to hang out with the lexxians much…so, I will be alone sort of and i do want to meet and “party” with as many lexxians as i can, so, I think that would be nice to meet you fri. nite at hard rock or whereever else…i am new to Atlanta , so i have no idea where H.R. cafe is…..ok i’ll stop rambling…..let me know a time and place and i will do my best to find it…(i am usually directionaly inclined) 🙄
So is Elmey going to this shin-dig?
It’s seems like a cliffhanger…. will Elmey be arrested for having a dangerous weapon attached to her head?
Will Aleck be costumed or will he just show up in a trench and a smile?
Will HDS out magnetize MMtwack for chicks?
Will I keep my shoes; or will they sacrificed for a bottle of cheap whisky 😉 in “Centennial Park”?

No I can use my little smidge of knowledge to get people where they want and need to go; but if I get to sauced please point me in the right direction at least…..
Oh and BTW I would be interested in some little blurbs about LEXX fans; they seem to be an interesting group….. Something like Know Your LEXXians….. like blurbs on who doing the sites or making the art or writing the stories. And asking the tough questions like….. fave and least LEXX ep; how did you find the show…. why it’s liked…… if there is a history of Sci-FI enjoyment…. what got you interested in Sci-FI Favorite main and not so main character and why?
And possibly a panel discussion of the LEXX from the beginning to the end with a panel of say 5; where each rewatches an ep and talks about it then we switch the panel around.
I don’t know I think it might be interesting to put names to faces …. we are currently all here even though it’s end + 1 and counting.
And possibly one place to see a quick blurb to see what everyone is up doing. Again, those we all know and those that are not as known such as Lauren Abrams (sp?) or I went blank 😳 🙄 yeesh Dr. Longbore…. (smacks forehead) Yeah it was the Noah’s rendition of that physique 😉 🙄

I have just purchased my tickets, I (along with my mom) will be in full attendance. I am hoping she finds stuff to do, it’s my birthday present, she’s just going to make sure I get there and back. I am so psyched!

Hey we could always use the buddy system….we ditch our moms with each other so they have company. I mean I am 24, so it’s not like she isn’t used to it by now.
