Trippin’ premiered in Canada a couple nites ago with the episode Miss Galaxy 5000, how do all you Canadians feel about the series?

I thought it was pretty good, and it was the first I’d heard of the show. The ending was not very hard to see coming, I certainly was not very surprised when T’Nuk found a way to win, though I didn’t see the method coming.

The Jokes were funny, particularly the refrences to other Science fiction shows and movies, and I plan to be watching next week.

I do wish they had started with the first episode however; 5 minutes in I was wondering whether or not it was the first episode and why if it was it didn’t feel like a first episode. I went online to find out more about the show the next day and found out it was the third.

To be honest, this Canadian wasn’t exactly trippin’ on this episode (why did Space premiere with this one anyway?) I’ll give the show a chance… It’s crude, but that’s not a problem for me, and it’s low-brow which is fine – it’s those mono-brow shows that really p*ss me off. While it didn’t blow by any stretch, it didn’t blow my mind as I had hoped.

I guess maybe it was that beauty pageants are just too easy a target (and a bit cliché, been parodied so many times before). I wanted something totally original for the first episode that showed here on Space. When it tackles religion, as I’ve heard it will, I’ll probably find it much more interesting AND funny (the funniest stuff is often the most insightful), or when it takes on politics and various taboo subjects… The more edgy and provocative the better.

I like the crew, but I wonder why the huge popularity of Six of One in the downloads section? The ones of an explicit Sixual nature are the most popular, right? Get real! It’s only virtual Six! Oh well, aint nothing wrong with a little cyberSix in cyberspace, I guess. Personally, aint nothing gonna ignite my rocket faster than a sexy propulsion system… Warp drives drive me wild, but you probably didn’t want to know that. Anyway, I quite like the misfit characters, crude though they can be… And Six isn’t your average cyberbimbo.

The jokes fell a little flat for me. I thought they were a little too obvious, lacked subtlety, but if you want restraint then you’re probably better off hanging with the S&M bondage crowd… Oh hang on, you’re here so you already are! Oh how them S&Mers love a good hanging.

Really, it almost always takes me a while to get into a new show – I’m very critical to start off with… It’s Six of One, half a dozen of the other… I think I might become a fan, but I need more time… Promising, and as it is an adult show, the more adult (older) the humour the better — “my Depends need changing” is such a classic.

You can watch the first episode online at scifi.com. But it sort of jumps right into the series, and doesn’t spend much time introducing the characters.

I’m not sure why Space elected to start with Miss Galaxy 5000. Maybe they thought God is Our Pilot too contriversial for a series opener.

It gets better in other episodes, especially God is Our Pilot and the recent Totally Recalled.

    😆

Speak for yourself. Personally I’m more into the B&D, and Ds. Those S&M’ers are too hardcore for me 😉

Ultimately, I thought the show was a lot of fun (good graphics, neat characters, amusing situations etc.) — now if only I can watch it without the mother-in-law it will be a lot more fun still. 🙂

Since seeing it the show has grown on me a lot. Looking forward to God is Our Pilot muchly.

    Ouch 😯

I can’t imagine what my parents reaction to seeing me watching this would be, let alone in-laws.

And unfortunately the appropriate software to view the first epiosde is presently not functioning on my computer.
