From my point of view, ive seen alot of scifi shows who resisted sex, but when the ratings were down, they immediatly put in some sex kitten or some cute kid, or whatever.
I feel sorry for the actress who played 7 of 9 on Voyager. They killed the sensible female role on Dark Skies and inserted her into it towards the end of the series. Same thing for Voyager, except we really got to see her phsyical talents. In that High School drama on FOX, its the same thing. No body could care less about her acting abilities, just show us her tits and hopefully the ratings will rise.
LEXX never needs to stoop to this level of adding sex to boost ratings. They got plenty of it. Loveliner was the best example of twisted alien sex. It strayed from the norm and refused to be defined or even labeled. It is was it was.
Now if all you want is hunky straight men and hot chicks wanting relationships (and theres nothing wrong with wanting that), then by all means turn on Star Trek and feel yourself trapped in the same old boring storylines after a few seasons.
Personally, the storylines of LEXX come closer to real life. If you were stanely tweedle, stuck in space with a sex slave who didnt want you and drove you mad, hell id make it a mission to get nookie ever waking moment of the day. Its like theyre basing that character off your typical teenager.
