It’s only “series” if you ascribe to the UK/Canadian standard of television program terminology. In the US, the term “series” applies to the program as a whole: [i]LEXX[/i] is a series, [i]The Young Ones[/i] is a series, etc. The groupings of new episodes is called a “season” because of the fact that most new programs are shown during a set period of the year. As many of the posters on this board are from the US, they naturally use US terminology to describe the new batch of episodes, as I’d expect that UK residents might refer to a “new series of [i]Friends[/i]” or a “new series of [i]Buffy[/i].” Saying that one is either right or wrong is pointless: they’re both applicable terms for the same thing.
