One day Squish recieved a invitation to the Oval Office. Hypatia asked him to sit down and began speaking:
“Other than the warm beer, I always felt that America and Britain should be closest friends. You could be vice-President. All the brains you can eat.”
Hypatia paused a moment to let Squishy think it over.
Ah, so another corrupt politician enters the frey (oooooh…that sounds rather rude!!!).
Anyway to continue this dialogue…
Squishy did indeed pause for a minute, but he was not pausing for the suggestion made by President Hypatia.
A cold trickle of sweat gently made its’ way over the rough features of the cluster lizard, the mere mention of brains had sent Squish into fantasy land.
He sat there imagining what it would be like eating President Hypatia’s brain, he quickly removed that thought, knowing that the American people would never accept him if he did such a deed…he’d have to think of another way to defeat his foe.
Of course he was completely gracious in his defeat, but certainly was insulted by the Presidents offer, but he knew he was not the only one.
Little did the President know that he had been given a secret report, one that had reported that the devious Hypatia had offered the post to Squish’s former nemesis…The Headgehog.
Squish also knew that the Headgehog had not made his decision yet, which had prompted the evil Hypatia to offer it to Squish instead.
Squish feigned ignorance of this fact to the President, so that he would not play his hand too soon.
Squish had a masterplan, he would teach this upstart President a lesson she would never forget and a lesson she would not see coming, but for this to succeed, he would need to enlist his former rival, Headgehog.
He knew that his tireless efforts in defeating the Headgehog had allowed Hypatia to slip in unnoticed, both Squish and Headgehog had been shocked when the coup d’etat had emerged, both claimed the right to bring vengeance to this shadowy foe.
The Great War was coming, and Squish needed allies, so he had made up his mind that the Headgehog would prove a valuable ally…for now.
President Hypatia knew that Squish was a dangerous character and had to be watched, she was used to moving in the shadows and would use this to her advantage…she desperately needed to know what Squish was up to.
Squish left the oval office and the President in a determined mood, it was not over, not by a longshot, and Squish made sure the President was aware of this by saying to her that she should keep her freinds close, and her enemies even closer.
The President was certainly left perturbed by that seemingly innocuous advice.
