I’ve seen that Sci-Fi has now said no to bringing it back, and Fox is not going to take such a huge risk. It seems like it’s Henson that is actually try to flog it to other studios, the reason being that his production company is floundering, animatronics are being used less and less in movies, CGI being the chosen path as it’s get’s to be cheaper to do each year.
Henson desperately needs a buyer and soon, and at the moment no one is really interested, sure they’ve had a sniff, but it’s clear that they won’t risk it.
The stats say it all, putting it on a larger network will bring in more viewers, but all that will do is make a comparison on Sci-fi’s figures but on a larger scale, so yes expect an increase, but an increase that won’t be good enough for a large network like Fox.
But the problem actually is Henson, he got greedy and Sci-fi didn’t like it, and Universal/Vivendi will no doubt have spread that message to other studios.
