The Rules of Lexx
Indeed they do, they go back to at least 1995/1996 when LEXX was being developed and shot. Originally, the mandate was to avoid all that was obnoxious in Star Trek. The rules circulated informally, until some wag typed them up as the “rules of the Supreme Beangs of the Universe.” Yes, it was misspelled Beangs instead of Beings. This
eventually got shortened to them being or becomeing the Supreme Beans, or ‘Beans’ for short.
There was, by the way, a second set of rules drafted by Production designer Mark Laing which you’ll occasionally see floating around as well.
For the record, at some point or another, the Beans have made a point of breaking every single one of their rules.
