A young married couple wake up and discover that their home is being remodeled by faceless blue-clad workers who are workers in time that build and move objects from one time period to another. They build each second, one second at a time. The foreman cannot let them return to real-time with their knowledge, but the couple manage to escape them for the hour required for the next second to catch up to them.

Most definitely sounds like the episode “A Matter of Minutes” from the first season of The New Twilight Zone (based on Theodore Sturgeon’s story [i]Yesterday was Monday[/i]). I remember that episode well.
