KeymasterThis must be pre-end of Lexx tension building in the whole Lexx community. There is so much bad vibes floating about on various message boards about lexx and a lot of bad feeling between some of the posters. Can we not all “group-hug” and get back to the reason why we are all here; To talk about our favourite show?

I don’t think it’s so much that JJ (although it wouldn’t be so bad if it were), it seems that someone is hellbent on making this board like the other two.
I’m not saying that we can be happy go lucky peeps, but the one thing that drove me here was that it did not have all the bickering and un-neccessary bitchin going on, and I think that’s what attracts others to come here.
Personally, I’d like to see Saddy’s get a name for itself, but not one that other’s feel is because of all the flaming that happens.
Like most things it can start off small, but then you’ll have the scum being attracted to the board, and believe me, there are those out there that just go to a site to ruffle feathers, they are professional trolls.
Then you get people attacking each other for every reason under the sun, everything from nationalities to your own personal hygiene becomes popular ways of flaming.
It’s very rare to find a site that it doesn’t occur on, I’m just one for finding a place where I can avoid it, and it’s really down to us to ensure that Saddy’s doesn’t get a bad reputation and is free of all the nastiness that can occur.
And although Saddy is happy for criticism and hot debates to take place, he should be wary that it doesn’t take much for his site to become like Sci-fi or Lexx.com, and should be taking a more proactive role in discouraging it.

ParticipantOk Squish – it seems to me that it is much more important for you to want to belong here than me. I don’t want to displace you by my presence, so I’ll leave instead. Sorry for taking away your peace and quiet.

Excuse for not buying that for one minute, christ just how sanctimonious are you?, I doubt very much that ridding your cancer from this board would prove that easy.
Frankly, people like you won’t go until you get bored of the situation, so it really falls on Tony or the moderators to displace you, as I don’t think you should be given the pleasure of leaving gracefully.
Because of the nature of this board, it seems unlikely that either Saddy or the moderators have ever had to ban someone, so there may be a bit of naievity on their part in dealing with a troll like you, they will hope it will blow over, but you and I both know it won’t, and you will stick around to cause as much trouble as is humanely possible.
So your condescending and arrogant attitude is wasted on me, like I said I’ve come across your sort before, and you are reminiscent of a terrorist, you hide behind aliases and attack using underhand tactics.
If you really want a good flame war, then I can suggest a few places, where you will be squashed by better trolls than you.

ParticipantJJ, you should have posted this thread in the Angst forum.

GuestThe easiest way to get rid of someone on the boards is to ignore them. Period. Trust me they will go away when they dont get any attention.
As for Bonee I have no comment, I dont know what all the static is about and I dont care. I dont come here to gossip about the Lexx community (but I will later in this thread) in general. I come here to discuss (sometimes aggressivly which is good) the best Sci-Fi that has ever graced Television, Lexx.
I leave all that other personal bull**** at the door, and to those that cant, just ignore em. What do you care what some face-less no-count says about you? Me personally I got a lot of other things to worry about then to waste my time.
As for the negative vibes you hit the nail on the head. Its the end of Lexx. No ones dreams came true about what would happen so far, and most likely they wont. This doesent mean that Lexx has gone in the ****ter, far to the contrary. But what it has done is backed off from being a series that die-hard nerds can compare and speculate about. And because of that, the arguements have shifted from the content/arc of Lexx to bashing each other personally.
Just the other day I read a thread where Flamegrape attacked Dalek for almost no reason. Dalek can be a putz, but he’s a Lexxian and a die hard Sci-Fi fan and that gives him more in common with me than the 99% that arent fans of Lexx or Sci-Fi. Flamegrape seems like he’s got a pretty good head on his shoulder so it just makes me wonder why he’d want to esculate the fight. And the above dawned on me. There’s really not a whole lot to argue about anymore than each others personalities and writing quirks.
I guess in summation its like those long boring summers for news organizations. There isnt any real news so they inflate some other problem to generate a buzz.

Lexxlurker, that is a bit of a romantic view when dealing with a Troll ( I even said it myself the other day, but Trolls won’t disappear so easily).
They will get on your good side again so that you forget you were supposed to be ignoring them and then when you think that they might have changed their ways…off they go again.
It is at best a short term solution.
I agree I would prefer to just leave it all at the door, but I don’t like bullies, and that’s what trolls are.

Participantsquishy, unfortunately i did have to ban two people during the last flame war…there were two others that i probably cut a little too much slack to…but eventually things calm down…i do believe jj;tensions are high, and a lot of oldtimers are getting surly along with the snappish newer peeps…anyway, no one should leave, everyone should just remember that we’re here to chit chat about lexx, at whatever level, and scifi, and try not to keep perpetuating the old errors…everyone likes a spirited discussion, the decision on when to step in is not hard and fast, so a lot of times we all just try to let things work themselves out…love to you all, fx

Flamegrape is female. The reason why lately she has been eager to snap at me is because there was this argument-thing going on and Aleck made me out to be some kind of radical and Flamegrape saw that his representation of me conflicted with her personal values and now sees me as some kind of enemy.

You 2 have the kind of arguments a sci fi forum should have.I’m sure that Flamegrape isn’t as mad as you think ,but if she is, I’m sure she has he own, very good reasons, unlike the random hatemongers and flamers here. Even you must admit, DT, that some things you say don’t always come out right lol .
I mostly came to this discussion to make a point to everyone. It’s not like these bad posters will come to your house or something if you don’t verbaly defend yourself! Just don’t aknowledge their stupidity. I for one, think it’s funny how the pathetic name-callers dig themselves deeper when they try to make people “understand “their plight. But if you get angry or over-emotional when you read what they say, just don’t read what they say! These losers aren’t worth wasting anger on.[ 02-03-2002: Message edited by: Nirvanah Rimmer ]

ParticipantActually, DT, I was totally kidding about how you should be burned at the stake as a sci-fi heretic for not noting the famous roles that Rutger Hauer and Tim Curry portrayed in Blade Runner and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (respectively) in your report. I should have said something wittier like, “You have a choice for your form of execution, heretic! Either burned at the stake in Salem town square, left out in the desert as an offering to Shai-hulud, report to the neighborhood disintigration chamber, processed for soylent green, or be fed to the protein bank!” That would have been a bit more sci-fi oriented!
And also forgot to commend you for your research.

GuestHey! Flame! I never knew you were a “she”. I had a mental picture of you as a male goth! oops. mentioned the “g” word.
I think a lot of problems with these little wars is that we all come from different places and cultures and what is seen as a mild sarcastic remark is a major insult to someone else.
If only someone could invent a board where you could record your actual voice as the reply. Then all inflections and such-like couldnt be mis-understood.
hmmm…..
