I did a 92.5 hour working week last week and am mildly pissed of with life the universe and everything. The one bright spot (besides cuddles from the wife) was the discovery of my new fave website (besides SadGeezer.com of course).

    http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/

(I should of course say http://www.bbc.co.uk – but I currently hate the BBC because their standard of news reporting has declined phenomenally over the last year or so ). AnimeNewsNetwork is for all those of you who, like me, like some anime (LOADS) and hate other anime. This site tells you what is coolest, gives you some great reviews and, stunningly!!! actually lets you download some of the episodes to checkout yourself.

After surfing the site for a few minutes I discovered the amazing and magnificent and wonderfully lovely ‘Spirited Away’ (my new fave film) and the stupendous ‘Full Metal Alchemy’.

As a SadGeezer who is depressed about the current state of TV sci fi and was looking for other ways of getting my cult sci fi fix, this website has been a godsend and I commend it for consideration of all sci fi sadgeezers.

For some strange reason sci fi sadgeezers have NOT entered this website in SadHOO! – If you know of a website that can provide us with a cool cult TV Sci Fi fix, PLEASE TELL US![/i]

    http//www.Adventchildren.net

When this comes out you wont see me around for at least a week P I think I’ve already watched the trailer 1,297 times.

It’s the sequel to Final Fantasy VII, and I have been waiting since ’97-’98 to watch Seppy and Cloud go at it again. Dont even get me started on this twisted

Eh? Square Enix also produce ‘Full Metal Alchemist’!! Is this a show or a computer game or both?

Final Fantasy is traditionally a game series. But…

Final Fantasy VII:Advent Children (those trailers) are a 90-minute movie due to be released this Winter in Japan. Which will also include a playable game for the PSP later. The English/International movie will ship much much later, probably next Summer.

[quote]FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN is a fully developed, CG-work sequel to FINAL FANTASY VII, the seminal 1997 PlayStation hit. Through 70 minutes of beautifully crafted DVD content, FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN revisits the rich universe and memorable characters of FINAL FANTASY VII two years after its dramatic conclusion. Technological advancements bring a visually stunning new look to the city of Midgar and its residents.

FINAL FANTASY VII, originally released in Japan for the PlayStation game console on January 31, 1997 and September 7, 1997 in North America, redefined the standard for role-playing games (RPGs) and has since achieved record-shattering sales of over 9 million units worldwide. Fans have long requested a true sequel, and with FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN, their wishes are granted. The product is currently in development and scheduled for release in late 2004 in Japan.

There’s many other FF7 projects in the works: Before Crisis;FF7 Compilation, etc… (including an “End all be all” to the Ancients/Cetra/Al-bhed series, but we’ll see)

They’re trying to get a limited theatrical release in the USA, but because “The Spirits Within” bombed so bad, I doubt it.

They used to be Square-Soft, and Square. They keep merging with people for more money =p

Lol 😆 Yeah but the untranslated “Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi” is far better hehe. Glad you liked it =) Miyazaki rocks

Back to FF; Spirits Within really isn’t that bad, I misspoke. It just bombed is all. All things being equal I’d rather they have chosen a ‘main-line’ Kitase-san story than building Earths story which most expected to be the last FF, or FF0.

There’s not a person who saw that movie not familiar with the series that knew what that “Green stuff” was at the end. Nor did they ever even bother mentioning “Gaia” or how peoples Souls work. It was like a horror movie, kinda sad.

Coulda been a groundbreaker in America, not a lot of Eastern philosophy gets through here, and when it does they dumb it down and call it the Matrix movies.
