Was just trolling the stats page and noticed this:

    😯 We’ve received 992581 page views since February 2003 😯

Just in time for New Years! Over 1 million hits in 2003, Wow!

Way to go Saddy and to all those that run and visit the site 😯

One million hits, that’s like more than the Beatles, the Stones, U2, and The Partridge Family had put together…

So I guess this is a fairly suitable thread to wish all the geezers a very Sad New Year. 🙂

Yeah, a million is a lot, but that’s not even half of it. The SADStats at the bottom selectively ignores a lot types of hits (page views), and doesn’t count any of the pageviews on the “old” html site. If we include those, the real number is somewhere around 7-8 million. (I’ve really got to work on the redirects from the old site to the new one!). Here’s to another great year!

Thanks for the extra info, Headgehog.

I must say that as I’m not much of a statistician or a number cruncher, what interests me more than the number of hits are the individuals behind the numbers. “I am not a number, I am a person” (No. 6). To me the site is mostly about the people. Many thanks to all who who have participated and contributed here, you’ve made this a very enjoyable place for me. And it is great that others — from accidental tourist to casual surfer to most dedicated geezer — are clicking on those pages to enjoy the fruits of the sad members labours (which includes the posts, news, reviews, and the site maintenance/improvements etc.).

Hope this community will be staying in touch for many years to come… “Remember us, don’t forget us, keep us in mind” (The President, The Prisoner). Oh, and don’t forget to write. 😀

Congratulations on all members accomplishments throughout the past year, and on any to come in 2004. Here’s hoping this will be your best year yet.

Nice to have a place with thoughtful, interesting, and witty people with similar interests to mine who I can “get together” with and discuss stuff with… Thanks.
