What about posting a list of the characters/costumes it would be great to see next year at Dragon Con, and HDS could comment on the do-ability and level of difficulty of each? If we could get a full representation of Lexx’s 4 years, at the masquerade next year we could put together a fast moving, exciting overview of key events, with the necessary characters comming out as needed, and winding up with everyone out on stage together! Even with the given time restraints, THIS COULD BE DONE! What do you think? I think you’d win!!!
5th September 2002 at 9:07 pm #61427AnonymousGuestAny possible Bunny’s out there? I have the same swimsuit Bunny wore in Appocolexx Now. I haven’t fit into it since kid #3, and I NEVER WILL AGAIN! But I do have that ep recorded and I double checked-it’s the same suit, only mine is 7 years old! If someone wants to wear it, I’ll bring it! I EVEN have a hat like hers, too! And don’t be shy- there were plenty of bikinis strolling around. It’s normal. It’s Dragon Con. T_T
5th September 2002 at 11:32 pm #61428FlamegrapeParticipantI think this is certainly possible because many of the costumes on Lexx were so simple. I have two ideas:
Clerics of the Divine Order. You can see them in the first episode, I Worship His Shadow and I think in Gigashadow too. They are really simple costumes. Just purple robes with hoods. I believe there is a white gown inner lining. And the face is covered with some sort of fishnet material. The only tricky pary might be the Divine Order symbol pins.
Another idea, though not as cool, maybe, would be the white costumes of the inhabitants of Gametown. Doesn’t sound appealing? Eh, I don’t know. Just a thought.

I forgot about those-very cool to have some peeps in them! They look great to me, seems like they would be easy to make, and they’d definately get alot of attention! I, however, would look like Fifi in one-unless they were re-designed to hide the stomach…redesigning the originals? Sounds like an ethics issue to me-so I pose the question: Are the costumes allowed to deviate from the originals to accomondate, hmmm…imperfections? Or should they be kept to the exacting standards already set by HDS?
I don’t know! Somebody else answer! (probably finding a more suitable costume that doesn’t need to be changed very much is the sensible thing to do!)

6th September 2002 at 2:48 am #61430AnonymousGuestClerics of the Divine Order are very do able. They are based almost on ren garb. The DivineOrder simbles I know I can make.
I think having Clerics running around would be too cool!6th September 2002 at 3:44 am #61431FlamegrapeParticipantquote:

That’s right! Those robes are something that you would see at a Ren fest. If you have some patterns on hand, hang on to them. I’ll be looking around in the next few months. There is a local community playhouse where I might be able to get some sort of help. Then there is always my sister-in-law, the actress.
About the Divine Order symbol pins. What about that guy we met at DragonCon? He was interested in the idea of making them. Didn’t he say he was going to show up on the bboards? Or did I miss something?

He did but you know people.
6th September 2002 at 6:53 am #61433theFreyParticipantWhich pin are you talking about? Pins are dead easy to make. They can be in peweter, resin, pot metal or plastic. My brother casts stuff at least once a month in all these materials.

6th September 2002 at 7:28 am #61435AnonymousGuestHow about a Vlad costume? Looked complicated but really nice. Though the hair (or wig) probably wouldn’t last more than a couple of hours.
And Prince would be cool too–and a lot easier to wear.
Think anyone wants to do the Schlemmi outfit in Luvliner?

7th September 2002 at 12:59 am #61439AnonymousGuestI never saw luvliner, either. Geez – what a loser!
8th September 2002 at 11:23 am #61440JhevzParticipantYou people are so cool to be around; I even was able to dress as Keyeo, Kai’s little sister last Sunday; `Kai, the dead can have an Inspirational Moment, never to forget; they can also have fun.’
T_T, I really like your idea for next yr, especially for the Masquerade; I could either be `Vlad’, Bonnie, Mort’s dead girlfriend or something like that; since I haven’t seen all of season 4, I just may get some more ideas for costumes that Trini_T suggested; I’ll give it a go.
Frey & HDS, what wonderful articles you wrote; as soon as I can get to writing mine, I’ll definitely post it; I also loved those pictures; I’m just sorry I missed the parade. May be next yr, HDS, I can join you; whether I’m dressed as Keyeo, Stephalee or Jhevz. As soon as I finish up my film & get them developed, I’ll also put them on my computer & post them to you nice people.
Take care & thanks again for helping me fulfill 1 of my dreams; have a great last of Summer & Fall.Lexxians Unite,

For reasons known only to themselves, SciFi Channel will interrupt their Season 4 reruns by showing Luvliner on Wednesday night/Thurs.am.
It’s one of my least favorite Lexx’s but it has its moments, and Schlemmi dressed for seduction is DEFINITELY one of them.

9th September 2002 at 9:23 pm #61442FlamegrapeParticipantI actually thought the French-Canadian hooker in Luvliner was kinda cute…
10th September 2002 at 7:40 am #61443theFreyParticipantYes Flame, but would the color suit you? That is the question.
10th September 2002 at 3:00 pm #61444MidoriParticipantI would actually love to get to this convention!! When is it exaclty, or where can i gt information on it? I would love to pop into a lexx costume..
I have even asked HIS DIVINE SHADOW for help on it or something.. But he never wrote me back or anything.. Not making me think hes a very nice person at all !!
Even if some one doesnt make one for me.. id like some nice input on how to construct one my self.. it would be nice.. Im not some newbie or anything.. I just live in a hole!! If i knew about these convention gathering groups of nice people before i got pregnant with my son.. I would have been there to
.. So anyones help on costumes or information would be greatly appreciated!! I would like to be a part of something for onece.. Heck if it comes down to it.. and its sad to say it because i really would like a lexx chacter costume.. Ill go as one of the “GOTHS” ha ha.. considering its a main part of my wordrobe and i have versions of all the outfits..Midori

10th September 2002 at 4:17 pm #61445theFreyParticipantWell, HDS has been a bit over whelmed with getting ready for and then cleaning up after the convention. I do know that Tree has requested that the house be costume debris free until after Christmas. But I am sure once things slow down, it will be a bit easier to get his attention.
However, having said that, his costumes are on the order of magnitude that most of us could not afford. For instance, the development time for the Kai costume was literally months, several of them I beleive. So, most of us would opt for doing our own costumes or going with a simpler one.
One thing that struck me while I was there was amazingly enough the uniformity of the outfits that the Star Wars and Star Trek groups had. Do they have master patterns or something? My lord, *all* of the imperial officer uniforms were freaking exact!! Made for a great look let me tell you.
Perhaps, we could get Flame or someone to draw us up several of the more simple “looks” ie, cleric, cluster judge, newborn ect and find the patterns that could be adapted for them. Then the accessories that need to be made, like the Divine Order Cloak clasps, could all be made alike, giving us a more finished look. Or the Prisoner shoulder tabs, belts and wrist restraints, those could be easily manufactured in a rubberized material so that people could adapt them into individual outfits. However, under no circumstances am I going anywhere as original Zev. Hey, once you have that, the Zev outfit would be easy to do. Some white smocked silky stuff, black boots and a blue-ish wig. Oh yeah, and a figure. Hey Trini, what to make a Zev outfit?
Anyone have any ideas for a other recognizable costume from Lexx? Hey Ben, did you make a pattern when you made your Divine Shadow Pattern?
10th September 2002 at 7:56 pm #61447FlamegrapeParticipantHDS is one of the nicest fans in fandom that I have ever met. He and his wife, Tree, are the greatest! Like theFrey said, he’s probably busy.
10th September 2002 at 8:28 pm #61448AnonymousGuestI worship HDS!!! May his shadow fall upon you!!! Like I said earlier it’s too bad M.M. didn’t seem to possess the well-honed people skills which naturally OVERFLOW from HDS…LOL- DON’T be fooled by all those pix of him in Kai costume with that Kai face…off camera he was talking and laughing the whole time I saw him! Between meeting him & Tree,Todd, Mandara, Stephanie,AND our beloved moderators Flamegrape& frey (FRY!!!)- THAT ALONE WAS WORTH THE TRIP! They are FUN,FUN,FUN! Midori12th September 2002 at 5:59 am #61453theFreyParticipantJust to remind everyone, there can be more than one of some character. It would be nice to have a full set rather than a lot of doubles mind you, but it is possible if you had your heart set on creating a certain costume. Also some characters wear more than one out fit, Prince for example, or Shelmie/Fifi or…. Price Kai in the blue dress. Yeah that’s the ticket. Give them LOTR elf archers a run for their money!
12th September 2002 at 9:07 am #61454JhevzParticipantIt would also be cool to see a Prince, Bonnie, & other characters; next yr though, I plan to dress as Kai’s little sister, Keyeo, Stan daughter, Stephalee, & Zev/Xev’s twin sister, Jhevz. I already like HDS wore his nice, hot Kai costume; & his lovely wife wore a really nice Xev outfit; I hope she wears it again next yr.
I really liked meeting up with HDS, his lovely wife, Flamegrape, the frey (pronounced Fry), Trini_T, mandara k & other Lexxians; I even met a nice guy there that walked me back to my hotel room. It was also really nice to read their articles about the convention; they’re good reading & wonderful pictures.
Well, take care all & I’ll see you next yr; have a great last of Summer & Fall.Lexxians Unite,

Midori13th September 2002 at 9:19 pm #61457theFreyParticipantLooks pretty good! I am sure you would make a great Zev.
Um, Trini? Neo would look really, really good in blue. You might mention to him that many a lovely lass would most likely want her picture taken with Live Kai. He also has the coloring, and hey, Live Kai’s ‘do is realitivly simple when you consider the original. Work on him. You can convince him, I know it.
13th September 2002 at 10:45 pm #61458AnonymousGuestBelieve me,I’m working on it…. ! He says he’d do it if I do Xev with the two piece outfit and get that belly button tattoo…NOT LIKELY!
Oh, Midori! I like it! You have a great post-baby figure! You make a fine Zev!
frey!If you can get Xenia invited, Neo would do just about anything-even walk around in public in a little blue tunic!(he does have a K’yoto bow in his weapons collection-and he sure knows how to use it! I’m sure he would be most anxious to show her his…skills!)hehehehe…Bow skills, that is!

OOO thanks for that comment to.. i do nead help on it though. I call that version my chop up old clothes version..
Id actually like to construct the black pieces out of the actuall material it was made from and not a black snake skin shirt i ripped up.. and the dress as well!! I cant find a nice pretty bluish/silverish burn out flowery velvet like the one used!! its driving me crazy!! and how im going to make the folds in the top chest area.. Im quite sure its sooo simple.. but im a bigginer to the sewing machine.. and fabric like that is not cheap here.. so i dont want to mess it up..
I used some cheapo silver very itchy glittery mesh for that dress..Midori

Reminds me of something Mel Gibson said when discussing the filming of Braveheart-
Mel(to a group of local men):”Hey, what do ya guys wear under them things, anyways?”(referring to the traditional kilts)
Locals: “Your wife’s lipstick.”
