DragonCon 2006 and Lexx
The Partial schedule was just posted for the AMSF Track and Lexx has a panel scheduled Friday at 10:00 PM – ‘Lexx Revisited’
This is excellent news and will give the Lexxians attending a nice early Con meeting.
Oh, and don’t forget, if you are going to DC and want a Security Guard Class 4 name badge for the convention, you need to let me know by August 13 at the latest.
30th July 2006 at 2:02 am #76610theFreyParticipantLexx at Dragon Con 2006 –
Updated to remove changed informationLexx Panel – The Lexx Panel (Friday Night 10:00 P.M.) will be in the Courtland Room at the Hyatt hotel on the Conference Level. We will try to have a few Lexx Goodies here. Complete SFTV track info here -> http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corridor/6825/itrack.html
The Lexx Fan Club USA has a fan table in the main lobby. Lexx fan’s who wants to do some serious people watching while helping man the table can send me their name and contact info to get on the roster. Contact info available here – > http://www.thefrey.com/UsCon.htm
Lexx Book Drawing – There will be a drawing for the proof books from Valdron’s Lexx Books. These are the books that are ordered to make sure that formatting, cover graphic placement and content is correct. They have been flipped and bent and had typo’s circled in them. However, scuffed though they may be, they have virtually every word of the final product.
You can enter the drawing in various ways. In fact you can enter numerous times depending on your activities Friday and Saturday. You can do a one time sign up, just by stopping at the Lexx Fan Club Booth and signing in on the “I was here roster”. Each time segment you work at the Lexx Fan Table on Friday or Saturday will get you an additional chance to win. Attending the Lexx Friday Night Track Panel will also get you an additional chance, as will showing up at the SFTV Track party which starts at 11:30 p.m. The more activities you participate in, the more chances you have to win one of the proof books. Schedule changes will adjust the give away, so you will want to check the Lexx Fan Club table for details. Look for the Lexx Balloons as a meet up point.

I’ll e-mail you the info tomorrow morning, before I go through the boards on my Spiritual Profile; I’ll also try to make it to the parties, since there will be a lot of Gothic panels I’ll be attending. I may not be able to help man the Lexx table this yr, but I’ll certain try to make it; but I’m glad that there will be something Lexx oriented at Dragon*Con this yr.
Take care & I’ll see you thenYour Friend,

Jhevz 😉16th August 2006 at 10:56 am #76632theFreyParticipantIf you are going to DC, please drop a polite email to keep the Saturday night party from being moved!
See Below~Dragon*Con staff has informed us that the AMSF TV Party may be moved from International Ballroom (North or South) to the (tiny) Courtland Room. We need to give D*C a realistic projection of our numbers. If you have an interest in attending this party, please send a polite e-mail to:
And if you know anyone else who’s interested, spread the word!

30th August 2006 at 2:43 pm #76645mandara kParticipantSadly, I won’t be there this year, bring you umbrellas, though; Ernie maybe crying heavily when you arrive.
Ah, I smell fear in the air, fear from may be all the hype will not bring in the numbers of watchers for the AMTV track forerunners. Thus the seeds of my second exile began . Two for two! what a great thing. 😆 I’m very excited of how being tossed off sci-fi will clean out a lot of gunk in my life and free up so much time!
*Does a war hoop and dance around her computer.*
Ah, I can come back to Saddy’s though, no corporate mucky-muck playing God, no scared execs shutting me up to cover up their own faults, no parties with vested interests in outcomes (and worrying about $) influencing fans, just Sadgeezer men and women.
The smell of freedom is irreplaceable, that overpowers the smell of fear and gives me hope in the future.; a future for “the little person”; the one who may NOT be able to afford cable, and cannot afford to have luxuries like the internet because they had to fill their tank, or pay for medical bills, or pay for their child’s education because corporations are too worried about cash flow then the welfare of their employees.
Did you know in a study of the Western powers that the US is ranked second to last on the educated scale behind a majority of Europe?
We are being used and we’re too stupid to know who pulls the strings? Not me. And not you. Get informed. Expect the best, but be prepared to take the worst to get the best.

Thank you for giving me the vehicle to prove myself, it’s the answer to my prayers. although I feel compassion for you; what must happen in due course must happen to teach you. If it does not destroy you, you will see a brighter end.
31st August 2006 at 7:35 pm #76647AnonymousGuestAny chance of a live linkup for SadCAST from DragonCON?
Tell us how it’s going etc. Will anyone be able to skype in? It would be great if you could.
1st September 2006 at 1:52 am #76651HollydaysParticipantjerks, jerks, jerks! (J/K) You’d better Sykpe in and rain some sci-fi sunshine on the rest of us!
1st September 2006 at 7:39 am #76652mandara kParticipantUm, call me not techno savvy, but um what is that you seek?
I know Frey and Headge will give us the whole story, though if you are talking feeds would be cool.
Ernie’s cleared you, 😆 I can’t wait to see or hear the lowdown.
Tell me about the costumes, and the sea of sci-fi fans strolling through.
My heart is there with you all. And any revisions to the Jack Sparrow get-up?
I hope Frey and the Brother made it okay. Check in soon, okay sweetie?
As my second day of exile comes to an end. 8) 8) 8) 8)
28th September 2006 at 6:44 pm #76731AnonymousGuestHey first time on the board and just wanted to say hello and wondering how DragonCon2006 went? Did anyone get any pictures? I didn’t get to go this year but I see some people here did get to go and am wondering how it went?
29th September 2006 at 2:41 am #76732theFreyParticipantWell it was very nice as always. I got to see jkd112, Hedgehog, Kellen, Patrick Jevez, HDS and of course the divine Ms. Tabor. Sadly no Sarah or Mandara this year.
TheBrother was determined this year not to be caught in the usually Friday noon rush, so we arrived on Thursday afternoon. Sixish, after a sixteen hour drive. ;D Whooo, what fun. But it was a good thing. After showing my id to the Marriott Marquis’ clerk at the check in desk, said id was snatched out of my hand and theBrother took off to get our con badges. Leaving me to finish checking in and deal with a heavily over burdened hotel luggage cart and a very nice baby bellboy. Despite the lumber protruding from the cart promising potential peril to all the convention goers we passed, we quickly made it to our room.
Good thing too. The minute I tipped said luggage lugger, I speed hobbled down to the main convention floor to sign in for our Lexx Fan table. Even though the table check-in deadline was noon on Friday, quite a few of the good tables were gone. However, as luck would have it, I managed to find Ms. Tabor a few seconds before the Romulan group did. So as he danced impatiently, she let me study her map and pointed out the remaining tables. Central table. Last end cap. Wall behind it. By the Exhibition Hall doors. Yeah baby, prime table real estate. 😀 I bounced back up to my room and snagged my packing tape and a Lexx Flyer and taped it securely to the table so there would be no last minute mistakes.
Shortly afterward theBrother arrived with our badges and we went out for dinner. Which surprisingly enough was not as easy as it sounded. The Marriott was undergoing some construction that started about three weeks before we arrived so their skybridge area was closed for construction. We also found out that the alternate route would only be open until six the next day and then closed for the rest of the weekend. Who starts a major building project two weeks before a convention that draws 30,000 people? Ah, that would be the Marriott.
Apparently the only route to the Hyatt would involved leaving the cool of the hotel, fighting the vehicle traffic at the main entrance, crossing a busy street and going up about two flights of steep crowded stone stairs. As some of you may know, I finally killed the last of the cartilage in my left knee, so me slepping a heavy cart full of dvd’s and other Lexx loot up two flight of stairs Friday night was not going to happen. Not to worry. After pointing out a few failures to plan and expressing my joy at this turn of events to the right person, they gave me a call card for a hotel car. Yeah me. Chalk up another one for the powers of persuasive speech class.
Anyhow, Thursday night drew to a close. And lest you think I am totally down on the Marriott for the numerous bone headed things they did over the course of the convention, quite a few bone headed things actually. I have got to tell you, the beds were to die for. I found out later that they have added 4” down feather beds and duvets to their rooms. Now, I have some killer good mattresses at home, but these were heavenly. And yeah for me… they sell them on line. I think theSpouse will get a gift that keeps on giving this Christmas. If I can wait that long. And… I have found something for theFather who is fed up with fruitcakes, specialty jellys and aids for the hard of hearing.
I only have a few picture, but this weekend, after I finish my inventory at work 😥 I will finish this and post my pictures and a link to a lot more. Perhaps we can get jkd112 to pop up the ones he took also.
Inventory. Ugh. Pray for me 😛
