How Series 3 could have been shorte(AKA Prince’s Stupidity)

If Prince knew all along that the destruction of one planet would have lead to the destruction of the other, why did he bother trying to stop Stan/Xev from blowing up fire? No matter which planet got destroyed first, both would have been blown up ultimately. So if he’d just let Stan destroy Fire in “The Key” rather than talk him out of it as Xev, he would have succeeded in his goal.
Through the sands of time, we look back to the last episode and find… Prince took control of the Lexx to blow up Water. He was “freed” from Fire by the explosion because he was on the planet. Surely that’s part of the reason he didn’t want them to blow up Fire while he was on the Lexx. They would never have blown up Water on their own.
