i’ve been hearing for quite some time that the film has been really slated in the States, but i’ve heard very little about the reasons why. if you have seen it was it all that bad, or the coolest film you’ve seen in a long time? i’d probably want to see it anyway, merely to see why people have created such a fuss. i’m just curious to know what i may or may not be letting myself in for. i’ve seen bits of programs on the special effects, and they look quite spectacular so it seems a lot of effort has gone into the film…..

Unfortunately, it the same old ‘Hollywood ruins another good comic book story’ I think it was more to do with bad writing and interference from the producers (Ang Lee is a hard geezer to dislike in my book).
Some of the characters were pretty poorly represented. Father dude (of hulk) was full of holes – shame Kristoferson is usually pretty cool, and the geezer that played the father of the girly was bloody awful (not sure if it was the actor or the writing (prolly the writing)).
Plot was ok, acting of Brucie and his girly wasn’t too bad and the special effects were ok (nothing like LotR though). I especially like the the fight between the Hulk and the doggies…. Very nicely done and pretty violent considering the 12 rating.
It was worth going to see, but I wont be buying the DVD.

I on the other hand did enjoy it, The giant doggie scene was fantastic, I will never look at a poodle in quite the same way again!!
Must agree with sadgeezer, thought most of the writing was terrible. I felt that with the exception of Bruce, the rest of the characters were very two dimensional. Although I did think that Bruce’s back story was also vague and could have been put across much better.
I will be buying the dvd, but thats cause I really am a sad geezer and can’t help myself. Its an action film. What can I say, the hulk was never meant to be anything but a no brain action movie, so for that reason its worth a look.

Yeah! WHat was wrong with that! Hulk didn’t say, “Hulk Smash!” at all during the film… not even once! – I think they should have at least made him say it once just as a mark of respect! 😉

Though there was the absence of “Hulk smash!” I did enjoy it when he called Bruce a “Puny human.”
