On lexx.com, does anyone like mIRC?

Hi Fellow Lexxians,
I have a question concerning the lexx.com site; it’s about when you 1st sign up as well as trying to post. When signing up, there’s no indication that a person has to sign up with something (mIRC) in order to post anything; when I 1st signed up, then tryied to sign up 2 more times, that’s all I could do; there wasn’t anything telling me I had to sign up with something, like mIRC 1st, in order to go farther.
I’ve been wondering ever since I’ve found the web page & found out more about it, including Rachael’s & Sparta’s web pages, if anyone who have posted on lexx.com if they like mIRC. Does anyone who’ve signed up with lexx.com & posted anything on it like mIRC? I’d like to know, so that I can see if I’d like to post anything, which I do; I’d also like to know, so that I know that others like or dislike the site (mIRC).

Um, all you need is a valid email address. It sends you a temporary password to that address. There is no requirement for mIRC/AIM/ICQ whatever.
Me personally? I ****ing loathe mIRC. [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img] I use a recent build of IrcII, which most other peopel find to be terribly archaic.
I have mirc but seldom use it bc I have a regular chat room I go to.
Sci-Fi.com #LEXX.
I’ve only used the chat function on it.
I haven’t checked out it’s other options.

There is a link in the top navigation for the lexx.com board “chat” that takes you to the javachat page on Rachel’s site.

P_T_Bando, I also use a chat room from time to time; I go to thedarkzone.com chat room, using Keyeo, since I’ve not been able to use her in the lexx.com bboard.

mIRC (or any other IRC client) is only required to access the chatroom. The forum is accessed using your browser.
There used to be a browser-based chatroom on lexx.com, but basically with the series over they’re not going to continue shelling out the cash for it. Last time I checked you could still access the chatroom via the web at Rachel’s thedarkzone.org site.

This coming Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, I’ll be trying again, probably having to use mIRC, with all 3 Usernames (Jhevz, Keyeo, Leyeo); I’ll 1st try it as stormsweeper suggests, then as Splarka suggests; I know that either way, I’ll probably get in. I’ll let you nice people know, next week, whether or not it works; I got a good feeling this time it’ll work.

This week, I’ve been doing some research & reading up on mIRC, on the mIRC web site; I’ve been reading up on the whole thing, so I have an understanding of it & to help me decide if I’d like to have it or not. Of what I’ve read so far, it sounds like it would be helpful & a nice thing to have; also, for strmsweeper’s info, lexx.com/bboard & chat is an IRC client; also, that way, if I sign up to another bboard, like lexx.com, I don’t have the same trouble as I did going into that 1. If everything goes right & I’ve exhausted & finished all my research, I may sign up with mIRC, go to the lexx.com bboard & try it again; I believe then, it’ll work; let’s cross our fingers. I’ll let you all know when I’m finished with my mIRC research & let you know whether or not I’ll be signing up with it or not.
