Keymasternormally i’m in the bath when it’s on, but i caught Dark Angel on Sky One last night. Can’t remember the blind girl’s name, but i had an awful feeling something was going to happen to her. having caught bits of other eps, i realise that joshua was very fond of her. I also realised that whatever happened, joshua would get the blame. sure enough, when she is found dead he is immediately accused of her killing. it just saddened me, that the girl was prepared to accept him for who and what he was, and he would have cared for her…and she ended up being murdered. in a sense, joshua would feel responsible for her death-how do you think it would affect such a character?
another point is about the media circus surrounding the case, and people’s reactions to it. it was another reminder that there are those who would quite happily profit from other’s misery…and that people are all too quick to fear what they do not understand, and want to destroy it instead of just asking “why?”
a discomforting episode for me, not because i want to hide, but because i felt for the characters involved and knew that although this was a sci-fi show, it perhaps was too real..i’m a sensitive soul… 15th May 2002 at 2:58 am #43592Anonymous
GuestYou’re not alone Snooklepie, it’s not often a programme affects me on an emotional level, but I ended up cursing the scriptwriters for dealing poor ol’ Joshua such a harsh blow.
The blind woman’s name was Annie, and yeah she really cared for Joshua, it really must have hurt him even more when he had reluctantly agreed to leave her behind in the sewers.
I think Joshua is gonna get nasty now, but I hope he get’s the chance to take out White himself.
This is exactly the reason why Max and Alec wanted to keep the kind natured Joshua away from people, Joshua was probably better off at Manticore and I think Max realizes her mistake.
One excellent programme that just get’s better and better, especially when it can tug your heart strings that way.

Guesti’ll cetainly try and make more of an effort to watch from now on, if only to see White get what he truly deserves- though i’m not too sure about Joshua doing it. I wouldn’t like to see such a kind, good-natured character become something he really isn’t as a result of this- the very monster the media are portraying him as.
