SadGeezer
KeymasterJust got my S2 V5 DVD in the mail today. Instead of it listing “The Web”, it lists “The Net”. Obviously this is a typo.
How much are LEXX DVD typos worth on ebay? Or are they all like this?
Oh well, another LEXX DVD filled with episodes ive never seen before. Happy days!

GuestThe 2nd ep(2.17) is the The Net, The Web is 2.16 so if your S2.4 says the Net its a keeper
edit: ahhh I see where you got confused. Saddys review claims The Net is 2.16 and The Web is 2.17. Why’d ya do that Saddy?

GuestYes, im following the LEXX guide. Still both DVDs say the same thing.
After watching Brigadoom for the first time, I think I have a good idea what they will do for a LEXX spinoff.

ParticipantFor all intent and purposes they are the same episode, so it is no wonder that even the DVD people got them confused!

GuestWhere on it does it say the wrong title? I’ve got my discs right here, and they say the right title for the right episode…Or is it on the artwork printed on the disc? Mine are blank test discs, and I haven’t even looked at the artwork for the discs themselves.

GuestI think they fixed them and sent new batches out, since some of my DVDs dont match the picture of them on some sites (different people on the front, etc).

Kee-ripes, I knew this was going to cause confusion when it was all over and done with…
Here’s the low-down on the different covers on the S2 discs. Acorn is creating all of the DVDs, and Koch shares some of the costs. In return, Koch (who owns the Canadian video distribution rights to the series) gets to pick up our product and distribute it themselves. Koch, in their infinite wisdom, decided to take the advice of one of their customers (a retail store/chain, I think) who thought that Kai was “too creepy” to be the focal point of a cover. They replaced the cover of S2-V3 (Kai’s cover) with a composite of 3 cast members, with Xev being the focus (artwork that we at Acorn put together for a promotional “sell sheet”). They were leaning toward Xev being on *all* the covers (though we are creating the content and the covers, Koch has the right to alter the covers as they see fit). Anyway, they apparantly changed their minds, as S2-V4 has the same cover as ours in the US. With S2-V5, they changed the cover *again*, this time featuring Kai, which means that the US S2-V3 and the Canadian S2-V5 look identical, except for the episode titles.
So, if your covers don’t look like what you’re seeing on some websites, chances are that you’re either looking at a Canadian site and own the US pressings, or you’re looking at a US site, and own the Canadian pressings. If you live in the US and the latter is the case, then whatever company you bought the discs from violated territorial agreements and are a bunch of scumdogs.
