Still no news of a Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Remake

In 2006, it was reported that “Plans are under way in Hollywood for a remake of “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea,” Daily Variety. Apparently, Fox 2000 were developing the project, with a screenplay by Justin Haythe, who wrote the Robert Redford-Helen Mirren movie, “The Clearing.” They went on to say that the story will have the world’s most advanced submarine dispatched on a deep-sea salvage mission when it inadvertently takes on a predatory creature from the ocean floor.
Despite the interest, there still hasn’t been any news and we think it’s now a lost cause. Which is a shame, if ever there was a time to revive the saga, now would be it!
