KeymasterRecently a few people stated an interest in making a Lexx game, I don’t know if anyone got something going for it.
I’ve got a suggestion for a game using an open and free code from Totally Games based on their Star Trek: Bridge Commander game.
A lot of people having been using this code to make mods for the game that include many of the starships from the TOS and TNG era’s as well as many Star Wars mods.
These mods are incredibly detailed and are almost filmlike in appearance, I’d liked to have posted a picture here, but I don’t have a webpage to make the link.
It’s possible to use this code to construct many of the ships from Lexx including the Lexx itself, the only problem with this is that you can’t combine this code with say the Quake engine, so it would have to be just a ship based simulation. Even so to see the Lexx as a highly detailed mod would make for an interesting game.
Here is the link for these mods if you wish to check it out www.bcfiles.com
Check out Rick Knox’s ships, his are the best of the bunch. If anyone has any knowledge of 3D Max and creating hardpoints for mods, they would certainly be able to recreate a faithful Lexx simulation.
At the moment the code (it’s called Python)is used to introduce these mods to Bridge Commander, but it may be possible for a full Lexx game to be created from it, as you can create planets and solar systems, weapons of different designs and even the moths to go with the Lexx.
Please e-mail me at squishy7@btopenworld.com if you would like further info or pictures of these brilliant mods.
