KeymasterFor those interested I couldnt see any differences between the US version of Texx Lexx US version and UK version but P4X had an extended shower scene in the UK version featuring more naked bodies.

GuestThe shot which pans up someones naked back, rear and lower back featuring a tatoo is a longer shot which reveals another naked lady in the shower. In the US version it implies the tatoo and arse belonged to Xev.

ParticipantHold on a second, extended shower scene? As in even longer?!?
I felt that shower sequence was totally unnecessary. Disgusting exploitation of the female form. It had nothing to do with the rest of the episode, it was just this long scene that wasted time that could’ve been used for story development. And it went on and on and wouldn’t end. I think it was entirely reasonable to cut it down (they could’ve done a little more snipping while they were at it… ).

GuestThank you JJ, that explains the tattoo. Grrrr, I still can’t get over them butchering Boomtown.
Hehe, it could be a conspiricy between Salter and Scifi, Scifi shows only the butchered versions so truly obsessed Lexxians have to buy the DVD’s.

ParticipantI just realized that that post has the unfortunate potential to cause an argument.

No, I’m not going to argue. It’s been made abundantly clear in the past that you have a serious problem with depiction of sexual situations in media (though why you think your own personal views should be enforced upon *others* is something that I wonder about, though I know for a fact that you’ll *never* address this point), and you’re basically just being redundant by this point, so any argument I’d make would simply be redundant as well.
What this post *does* prove, however, is that you have no knowledge of, or exposure to, the venerable institution known as the “Women In Prison” (or WIP) genre of film. It’s a given that in any WIP film, there *has* to be an extended scene of females showering. It’s just part of the territory. “P4X,” being just another example of the long tradition of genre spoofs in LEXX, *had* to include the shower sequence. It’s gratuitous (as the shower sequences in WIP films always *are*), it adds nothing to the plot (see above parentetical), but it *must* be there. For further elucidation (I know you won’t check these out, DT, so don’t even pipe up about how you *won’t* see them; this is for the other people here), check out Caged Heat (directed by Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia director Jonathan Demme), and for an earlier spoof of WIP flicks, check out Reform School Girls.
–Aleck (would’ve included The Big Bird Cage and The Big Doll House but they’re atypical)
