If Ron Moore is reading this….he’s probably chuckling and wants to pat me on the head…Just came up with this one this morning…..

Earth Humans: the beginning of the story the plays “over and over again” as Roslin put it. Somewhere between the rise of the Egyptian Age and Roman Empire, extraterrestrials (let’s call them…..X) stumble upon Earth and occupy it for a short period of time.

The 12 tribes: During X’s occupation of earth. A faction of X, lets call them the “blue X” find that exploiting the humans is immoral and rebels from “red X”. In desperation, Blue X manages to warn the human tribes to avoid extinction. “12 tribes” of the 13 agree to flee. Blue X has a plan for them. They “hide” them on Kobol.

Kobol: Life flourishes on Kobol, leaving earth in a period around the Roman Empire. The tale of originating from Earth fades along the way. Elders of Kobol are conflicted between their documenting their story and that some of their own will try to go back to Earth. Fearing that they’ll all get creamed if attempted, Kobols elders realize they need to take a step back and withhold technological information until civilzation catches up. It’s all hidden in the temple of Apollo.

Expulsion from Kobol: War breaks out on Kobol. Those heaing of a place called Earth want to return but its too late. X discovers Kobol and humans must flee. The elders call their cards and reveal space travel technology from rebel X. The last remnants of the 12 tribes make a run for it. In haste they take what they can and lock up what they cant take (the arrow of Apollo). In their expulsion. Elders agree to lose the coordinates to Kobol to ending this once and for all.

Caprican Era: After the banishment from Kobol. Information of a habitable place named Caprica comes. Survival leads to habitation, habitation to exploration. Wanting a way and a manifest destiny. The 12 tribes colonize amonst the solar system. Much technology is needed to subsist beyond Caprica. Artificial Intelligence comes of age. It leads to the The Cylon Rebellion

Cylons run into “X”. The Cylon war rages and the humans have them in a pickle. Resources and technology have hit a wall. X has been watching this play out from a distance and by now is so advanced it wants nothing to do with whats going on. The Cylons run into X and manage to steal such incredible advances in technology that they cant comprehend it. They need the “human touch” to carry it out but don’t want them involved. They purposely call a truce with the humans to secretly figure it out.

Wait, it’s setting in… nice. It took a while but I think I got it now. 😉 I love good explinations, no matter how far they reach. As long as they can somehow manage to theorize a complicated, confusing situation, I’ll believe um. 😀

Very interesting. Check out your hypothesis, compared to the last couple or so questions in my post to the “Effects of the end of season cliff-hanger (SPOILERS)” thread. The “cycle of time” thing would play into that all.
