Keymasterokay, i am not sure how much this episode has to do with scifi, and i really miss 790, but i am enjoying this episode…i particularly liked kai’s explanation of the brunnen g song…and the priest asking what happened when the warriors went off to die…”we died”…gotta love that deadpan kai…oh and here’s two more for the quotable quotes section: ‘the dead are easily fooled’, and ‘the dead have no livers’ …one more thing, is it me, or does bunny look like a pretty amanda plummer? i kept flashing on pulp fiction…by the way i loved brian downey getting to play something different, and very well! oh well the metal head worked it all out in the end … so what did you guys think?

ParticipantIt was a good episode. Not great, but good. The Kai musical thing was neat for a while, but was overdone. I figure the script for The Rock was about a page too short so they just had Kai play for a few minutes longer instead of actually writing more. No drones. Usually they show up at the beginning and end but are never addressed in dialog with the main characters. But if there were drones, there wouldn’t be enough time for Kai’s Brunnen-G music.
790 is as annoying as ever. I’m sure many people were yelling to their television sets: ”THROW HIM DOWN THE PIT, ZEV!” This time he just solved a problem, though. I would’ve liked it better if the robot head knew that it was Brud Parsnip and not Stanley Tweedle when he pushed him off. “He’s not security guard scum, he’s Newfoundland scum!”
Well, Newfoundland’s been nuked, on to Transylvania…

GuestThis was a show which showcased some of the other facets of the stars. I gotta say, my nerves were a tad shredded with way too much Brunnen G song time. Michael McManus is a good piano player and it was a shame he didn’t get to do any other songs. I’m sure someone as clever as Kai could have picked up on some Newfoundland folk songs. Brian Downey is also an accomplished musician, it’s a shame his alter ego was such a jerk. As for Xenia, her comedic flair was nicely highlited by her drunken cluster lizard scenes. I liked the moth flying demo after entirely too much happy juice. 790 is really working my nerves! This psycho robot head thing is getting way out of hand. Besides, Xev had the situation well in hand. Poor Stan, I grow weary of his constant pusuit of nookie, but getting the b’jesus knocked out of him in a case of mistaken identity was something else again.

ParticipantDo you suppose she “ate the worm”?
(Refering to the traditional act of eating the worm at the bottom of a bottle of tequila! This is rumoured to have a psychotropic effect.)

GuestSome very good bits in this episode. Overall though, it seemed to be filler material, and much as I love the Brunnen-G song, it was a bit much. However, I did wake up with the damn thing in my head this morning.
Was the priest Frank Kelly from Father Ted? He was supposed to be one of the guest stars, and he looked familiar, but I’ve only seen 2 episodes of Father Ted, so I’m not sure. I LOL at his fight with temptation.
Loved Xev’s wild driving, and Brian as Mr. Parsnip was creepy and just plain EVIL. Poor Bunny is still sweet and good and clueless. Loved Prince’s tie.

Unlike Modo the Dwarf, Sergeant Colon did not know the meaning of the word “irony”. He thought it meant “sort of like iron”. – ReaperMan19th August 2001 at 7:21 am #55191Flamegrape

GuestThis episode was pure filler in the season 2 style. Still, I enjoyed it. They’ve settled into an interesting style. I was kind of hoping (since we suspect a time-loop), that Kai would have been the one to have given that song to the future Brunnen-G, but I guess not, as it turns out :-). 790 was perfect. I at least hope they’re smart enough not to give him the cart back.
