Iron Man 3 Movie Reviews
Plagued with worry and insomnia since saving New York from destruction, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), now, is more dependent on the suits that give him his Iron Man persona — so much so that every aspect of his life is affected, including his relationship with Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow). After a malevolent enemy known as the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) reduces his personal world to rubble, Tony must rely solely on instinct and ingenuity to avenge his losses and protect the people he loves.
Personally I thought it was a formula driven pile of drivel. Fortunately, I’m in the minority. For me the film came at a time when I was starting to get sick of comic book films (wow, I can’t believe I just said that) and was looking for something that was a bit different. I satrted watching older, grittier comic book films like V for Vendetta and Watchmen and I began to wonder if all this Marvel stuff was beginning to wear thin.
Having said that, it was certainly well produced and I certainly didn’t fall asleep during the movie. Perhaps it would be more objective to let you see other peoples reviews:
An IMDB Reviewer:
In Malibu California, Tony Stark has insomnia and over 72 hours he develops the new prototype MK42 of the Iron Man armature. He also recalls events in 1999, in Bern, Switzerland, when he had one night stand with the genetic scientist Maya Hansen that was researching a regenerative process and made fun of his fan Aldrich Killian on the New Year eve. There are explosions in Los Angeles and the terrorist Mandarin assumes the attempts broadcasting through television.
When Tony’s bodyguard and friend Happy Hogan is seriously wounded in an explosion, Tony Stark challenges Mandarin and gives his address to him. However, three helicopters attack his mansion and he loses everything but his prototype, and he awakes in the Tennessee. Tony tries to make work the defective prototype and soon he discovers that the event from 1999 is connected to the present terrorist attacks.
