I Worship His Shadow: 2 questions

The thing the Brunnen-G were fighting was called the [i]Fore Shadow[/i]. The [i]Mega Shadow[/i] looks very similar (like a big metal sea cucumber) so I figure it’s just a modified version of the original ship. I don’t see any indication of Insect technology or organic components in either.
