i recognize 4 of my favorites, Le Guin, McCaffery, Pohl and Bear. in fact i looked up Greg Bears official site and it was an interesting read. apparently in 2000 he wrote a Star Wars book called “Rogue Planet”. i really need to pick up a book every now and then! i recently saw “the Lathe of Heaven” on PBS and Le Guin even gave an interview after the movie. Fascinating !!!! i was very disappointed that the movie they where talking about making, “The Dragonriders of Pern” didn’t get made. but the people who were interested in making the movie were going to change too much from the original book, so Le Guin backed out. good for her!
now it was a while ago that i read this on the sci-fi wire so i may have some details wrong, like it was going to be a miniseries instead of a movie for example. i am sure somebody here on the BB know more of the details than i do.
