I agree. The time cycle idea is part of the story. Also, don’t assume that the beginning of the cycle has to coincide with the beginning of the divine order. The entire Lexx story could be set at the very ‘last’ instant of the cycle of time. The cycle begins with just the newly create universe and the souls of humanity (which are immortal so they say?).
