Some crude comedy could have been made from those scenes, like the key was used in the form of a fart, and the toilet would only recognise HDS’s farts.
Mind you I don’t think HDS would need a toilet, I’m not sure, but I think HDS never ate or drank anything and wouldn’t really need a toilet, so why was it on the Lexx?
Maybe it was never intended for use as a toilet, maybe it was used to interrogate prisoners in some funny but evil way.
