..and how about this: Zack gets out of the lift, because the Shadows have an accident with their transporter and manage to transport the A-team in there as well. They set about finding welding gear, tools, and various building materials in the lift and build a petrol driven tank out of the bits they find, which they fill up with petrol from a huge tanker which is rather conveniently situated in one corner. They all burst out of the lift on board the tank, just as the space hamsters are massing for an assault.
