I thought it was pretty good. Nothing like the first season of course, but the story motored along in the usual way.
The story was set three years in the future and JAck is now joint head of CTU with Tony. Silly daughter now works in CTU as a wiz-kid-computer expert.
Jack has spent a year infiltrating a group and eventually capturing the head poncho after suffering some pretty nasty (and undisclosed) experiences. And after all that Salazar (the captured dude) now has a plan (possibly with his druggy brother dude) to release a virus in Los Angeles unless Salazar is released.
Both Jack and President Palmer seem to be suffering some sort of illness (although Jack’s seems to be related to his drug adiction).
Likes:

Virus being transported in white-powdery-druggy substance.

President bonking his doctor

Jack with a drugs problem (did he get his stuff from the same dastardly Columbians?)[/list:u]
Dislikes:

Acting was fuck ing discraceful!

Little stupid blondie daughter is now a computer wiz-kid working for CTU

Big stupid brunet boyfriend of blondie daughter is irritating

Script-writing was crappy (putting the moral, ‘get your head together so we can do our job’ crap in the first episode was a real mistake).

Baddies don’t seem ruthless enough, they just look like run-of the mill drug barons.[/list:u]Oh! wifey tells me that there are two more episodes that have been posted in alt.binaries.multimedia. I’ll have to check them out…. 🙂 After the dissapointment of Tru Calling, could you say that I’m clutching at straws?

(RANT INCOMING!!!)
I say *think* because I am no longer watching this series.
I watched the first 2 seasons religiously, but can’t stomach another season of Elisha Cuthbert. Cute? Yes. But “cute” doesn’t make up for the utter lack of talent and annoyance she presents.
First season she made sense, she was central to the plot.
Second season they wasted about 4 hours of content by creating her a reason to still be around (I mean come’on a BABYSITTER???) They used her for the young crowd. They decided to put her in scenes in a tanktop and braless, which is FOX to a “T”, and these scenes were so implausable it turned me off to the show.
It’s one thing for Jack to be in all these central plots. Its another to have a young girl who is babysitting for a maniacal killer, ends up in a crazy mans house who may attempt to rape her, then she ends up in a grocery store where she becomes a hostage in a shooting situation…..it goes on and on….and becomes more rediculous by the second.
Now in the third series she’s an Agent in training apparantly, funny since she was a senior in H.S. in season 1. Guess they allow kids into the highest branches of homeland defense….
Towards the end of season 2, I started flipping channels anytime her character came on. No point in watching this season if they’re making her part of the main story.
In their defense, my brother called my last night to ask me if I was watching it and said this season so far is his favorite and it really started getting good in episode 3 or 4. Not sure which one was on last night.
