SadGeezer
Keymasterout walking the dog today, i came across the May Fair at the local church. It had a load of bric-a-brac stalls, so being one that loves hunting through junk, i decides to have a look…and i came up with a couple of real jems!! one was ‘Collins- Guide to the stars & planets’, which has helped me in my quest to find the exact position of Wolf 359, and another was ‘Doctor Who-The Programme Guide’, which gives all the eps, 1963-1989, gives the story on a lot of the eps as well as who starred in them and the writers and directors. how much for, you may ask…well, when i tell you i got them for a mere 20 Great British pence each, would you want to curse???
so it occured to me- what sci-fi goodies have you chaps picked up for a ridiculous price??? 6th June 2002 at 11:43 am #43648Anonymous
GuestI got my fav sci-fi book, Chung Kuo; The Middle Kingdom (which is an incredibly thick book and took me, a fast reader, two weeks to get through) for a mere twenty cents.
That’s Aussie cents, by the way.
I don’t suppose you’re willing to sell the Dr Who book? I’m currently panicking because Survivor is on this Sunday and it’s the last episode.
Mind you, the Doctor Who movie is on after that, so I’m slightly happy.[ 06-06-2002: Message edited by: Kamelian ]

Guestdon’t know how much it would cost to post it!!! probably an arm and a leg… my memory’s terrible, i just remember the last tv doc being Sylvester McCoy, and the show getting pulled around that time…..
it lists up to the 26th season, ending with the 3 episodes of ‘Survival’.
honestly, it’s worth anyone’s time rooting aroun charity shops and the like. it is truly amazing what you can find sometimes!(though i’ve had t hide the 2ft inflatable grey alien on top of the wardrobe- the dog doesn’t like it….grrrrrr, snarl…etc…)[ 06-06-2002: Message edited by: snooklepie ]

Saw the Survival; Part 4 last night. *Sniff sniff*.
Well, the movie’s on tonight and then that’s it until two weeks ahead, when they re-show all 4 parts of Survival and the movie.
*Sniff sniff*.. nasty people, they aren’t even going to re-run any more series. 10th June 2002 at 3:13 am #43651Anonymous
GuestI personally have gained an interest in Doctor Who in recent years through some of the repeats- i was knee-high to a grasshopper when a lot of the classic episodes were on, and i was put off the show for years because i had bad memories of hiding under the table round my Nan’s house because Doctor Who was so scary!! Did anyone else have the same problem??
