Thanks for thinking of us, siglum.
I, for one, am physically fine. Just completely stunned by what’s been going on today. In between crying jags, I’ve been completely numb, like none of this is really happening. It’s been unreal in the worst sense.
The amount of caring shown by people on this board, though, has helped immensely. I frequent more than a few message boards (lurking mostly) on various topics, and have been an active member of a mailing list for 6 years, and have never come across the amount of support and caring shown by this board on any other internet-based medium.A very sincere thanks to everyone on here, and know that my thoughts are with each and every one of you. Take care of yourselves.

13th September 2001 at 3:15 am #48754AnonymousGuestI’m so relieved you’re all ok, I wasn’t sure who lived in the affected area’s, but I’m so glad you are all alright.
I heard that it’s been difficult contacting loved ones and friends, and I hope all your families are safe and nobody you know was hurt in all this.
Squishy
P.S I’m not sure, but is Dalektek from that area?, and if so, would anyone know if he is ok.
Oh, and welcome Ferran, and thanx for the message of support.13th September 2001 at 3:39 am #48755AnonymousGuestIts great to hear your allright Aleck. I don’t know what I would do if something happened to you and there was a delay on the Lexx DVD’s. Hehe sorry for the joke but we can’t forget to laugh even when something like this happens. 13th September 2001 at 5:13 am #48758AnonymousGuestI’m glad you’re all o.k, so many other things to worry about. Sadgeezer and Lexx is a insane bulwark against insanity. – Does that make any sense?
(Thats what insominia dos, you write wierd posts)13th September 2001 at 6:37 am #48759AnonymousGuestglad to hear from you,
the recent news is disturbing enough to
people far removed from the cities where
the terrorist attack’s occured…i just wanted see how you guys were
i do agree with the mayor of NYC – don’t let
these events drive your spirits down & deny
the ****heads some of the pleasure they would
otherwise draw from thier crimes, sometimes
it’s the simple things that can do the most
good siglum

Yepper, I’m here and okay. Just too stunned by RL events. Thanks for inquiring, Siggie darlin’. Right this minute, I’m listening to a news report that men at JFK were arrested, one with a fake pilot’s license, another with a ticket for a Delta flight dated Tuesday, so apparently, it’s not over. And, now, a young woman is playing a recording from her brother who left a message on an answering machine saying goodbye because he knows he’s about to die. I don’t consider myself an emotional person but I just can’t seem to pick myself up. But, what lifts me up is how the entire United States has come together as a community; even more amazingly, how much of the world has come together to stand behind us in this time of crisis. (thank you rest of world!) Oh, who was that German internet rich guy who offered ten million dollars for information leading to the capture of those responsible for this terrorist act? That really wowed me.

14th September 2001 at 12:36 pm #48761AnonymousGuesthey there,
this may seem a little callous to some,
but if you let the events of the past few
days drag down your spirit, you really end
up rewarding the terrorist for their actions
by giving them exactly what they want.i know that some people feel that going on
cheerfully with thier lives might seem
disrespectful to the people who’ve passed
away somehow, but trust me – letting yourself
be caught up in the grief means that those
monsters were able to take life from the
people they physically killed but from you
as well..and that not something i personally
am going to let them do how about you ?

14th September 2001 at 11:39 pm #48762AnonymousGuestI just need to say thank you to all the international people here that have been so supportive of us Americans this week. You have no idea how much it’s appreciated.
I’m not much of a crier anyway but I hadn’t been able to get much more than a few sudden bursts of tears out over the past few days until last night. On the news they showed us the changing of the gaurd in Britian and all the people there singing the Star-Spangled Banner and holding American flags.
To me this was probably one of the most touching moments I’ve witnessed, right up there with all those wonderful people working so hard in NYC and at the Pentagon to save people and help. For some reason it brought the whole picture into a larger focus for me and I just started crying for all of us.
Let me say just one last time thank you to everyone for their support, no matter where you are. I think we’ve all been right there in the middle of it, no matter how far physically removed we’ve been. And I’d like to agree with Hypatia (I think it was her that said it) that Lexx and this board has been a bulwark in the insanity and chaos. We all need an outlet for what’s happened and reading everyone’s thoughts on this has been so incredibly helpful in the healing for me.
Aleck – thank you for your words, as well. I live in a highly diverse community and many of my friends are Arabic or practice Islam. We cannot recriminate an entire population on the basis of what one rebel group has done. They have lost loved ones in this tragedy as well and we cannot forget that. People of all walks of life sent people to work in the WTC and Pentagon and saw them off on planes only to lose them. We must come together as one people, unite as the human family, not pull apart in our time of need.
My heart goes out to everyone. I’m sorry if this sounds trite or stupid, but I just felt the need to say you are all in my heart and that I thank you.

Elfie — Thanks. One of my former co-workers is Muslim and he would constantly be the object of disrespect and ridicule by ignorant schmucks and would always laugh it off. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes right now, as I’m sure that it’s growing hard for him to laugh it off at this point. What people need to realize is that the World Trade Center was exactly what the name stated: a *world* trade center. People from across this globe were present in those two towers, and the lives lost will affect people *everywhere*. This wasn’t an attack simply on the US. It was an attack on all freedom-loving people (as trite as that sounds) by extremists.

15th September 2001 at 12:57 am #48764lizardParticipantGlad to hear B.C and Aleck are ok, I know 2 new yorkers who were sucessfully evacuated from the blds. Hang in there new yorkers, the rest of us admire your courage,
L.15th September 2001 at 4:47 am #48765AnonymousGuestElfkin, I stand proud of my country for the support they have shown, you always think that not everyone would be willing to show America and the world, just how highly regarded the American people are too us.
This country has the US to thank for many reasons, and we will never forget the many things your beloved nation have done for our country when we needed someone to stand by us and help us.
The scenes you have witnesses in the UK are not just minority events, the whole country feels that a brother or sister was lost in the events of tuesday, we all stand for the same principles and ideals.
So, as far this country is concerned, anybody who hurts or wants to fight America, has to contend with it’s little brother…the UK.
To quote a line from my football team’s anthem…’You will never walk alone’.
We will always stand by you, as your country sets the greatest example of freedom and liberty in the world, and we will fight to protect you and the belief’s of your country…always.
