I recieved this the other day and the guy seems pretty genuine. Has anyone else had the same problem?

I can’t see any problem – the directory works fine, as does the redirect script. Since the work is done on the server end there shouldn’t be any problems with different browsers, but it might be worth asking what browser+version he is using and whether he is using a proxy server.
yeah a lot of the time, things just screw up with computers, i dont know enough to find out the problem but a different browser might fix it, if is using IE tell him to try msn explorer that might work.
