Well…you know honestly that sounds craZy right from the start. However it does make some bit of sense. Wouldn’t it be just like the beans to make out the not so great flawless human race out to be the future saviors of humanity. But I doubt it and I do believe earth does hold some importance in the Lexx scheme of things.

I, personally, don’t think it’s possible. There would have to be too many things to happen in the remaining few episodes for this to be the case. The sun would be threatening to go Supernova, elaborate structures would have to be built to prevent this from happening, there would have to be a total change in architectural styles, and the entire populace would have to leave and settle on another planet and live for hundreds (if not thousands) of years before HDS comes back.

That is, *if* the cycle of time has begun again, which I’m still not sure it has.

Wasnt the Sun going Supernova on Brunnis 2? not Brunnis itself. We never see Brunnis, only from Space when it is getting destroyed by HDS.

No, the original historic records of how the Brunnen-G gained immortality were stored on Brunnis (which is why the crew went there in Super Nova). The Brunnen-G fled the planet because of the instability of its sun, and settled on Brunnis-2. Hence the name.

Maybe in the future, the people of Earth colonize a planet that is named Brunnis. If that’s true, then the fractal cores are really time portals. And if that’s true, then the “Dark Universe” is really the “Light Universe” of the distant past. The time difference would have to be in the billions of years.

But did the Brunnen-G actually travel through a fractal core in order to settle Brunnis-2? After figuring out immortality, they had trouble with their memories…

LOL!!! That’s the ***BEST*** time to come up with LEXX theories!

Oh, how could I forget the most important thing in the success of your theory…the entire populace would have to decide to adopt the “squashed beehive” and “hook rug outfit” look. And we know how popular those are with the kids these days.

i think it is a wonderful theory JJ, and quite possible, especially in the world of fiction. just one hour of a fictional show has many different possibilities and i think we have 14 eps left. i have been surprised by this show in the past and i am sure it will happen again.
beside i seem to recall a few months ago when i was watching Brigadoom for the umpteenth time i thought about the same theory and the way that i made it work was a huge time difference from the present to the time of the first movie (100,000 to 500,000 years was what i came up with). this gives us plenty of time (maybe, who knows for sure) for the sun going nova, the insect wars, and HDS.
thanks for bringing this up it will be interesting to see what really happens

Interesting theory, actually! But my personal theory is that the earth shrinks to the size of a pea with this whole Higgs-Boson Particle thing. It then punches through the fabric of space time, and creates a new universe (the Light Universe), and partially re-expands. After all this, all life on earth is dead-dead, so what we have is a dead planetoid in the Light Universe….which becomes…

    The Cluster!

I think that the geeks, Dr. Longbore, and Stan and Xev escape, and become the forerunners of the Brunnen-G.

Um… I believe that the brunnen-g did not discover the immortality thing until after settling on brunnis-2 and setting up their sheild. otherwise, why would there be so many of those memory poster things on brunnis in supernova? Also, in supernova, kai tries to explain the above to zev, but she insists that they go anyway.

I came up with a theory quite like that one after a few (dozen) too many.

I definitly think there’s some connection, the view of the stars from Brunnis looks like the Milky way looks from Earth.

    See, don’t watch Lexx drunk.

It’s possible that the cycle of time has looped since the third season, but the interpretation I’m now leaning toward has humanity from this cycle colonizing the Dark Zone in the last cycle. Er, that makes sense, right? So the people who were all over in the first two seasons are the descendants of the people on the Earth now, not the Earth then. And eventually the fractal core is found and they colonize the Light Zone as well. Is what I’m typing comprehensible or do i just need sleep?

So that explains why the Brunnen-G share the vast majority of their D.N.A. with Terrans and both of the languages we hear them speak are Teutonic.

Brunnis-1 can’t be Earth because Earth’s sun will never go super nova. It can’t reach critical mass, the chemistry is all wrong. It’ll just collapse in about 7 billion years, aided by the shock wave of the Eta Carinae super nova. Plus Brunnis-1 had that other blue sun. But then again Kai said there was no record of that star, and I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean. Maybe it has something to do with the suns talking. Or maybe the real answer is something along the lines of “never write an episode whilst drunk.”

Well, crap! Damn you, brunnis!!! I was already to beat Aleck over the head with his inaccurcies and DT just missed out on it too it seems.

Brunnis was in the Dark Zone (still doesn’t rule out JJ’s theory out btw). They fought the insects there.

Several *months later.. they left to the Light Zone where they discovered immortality and Kai and a few younguns went off to fight HDS. *sigh did no one see Brigadoom

However… one of the many mysteries or inconsistancies in LEXX is how the Time Prophet was accessible to the denizens of Brunnis1 in the Dark Zone and yet also accessible to Kai and HDS in the Light Zone.

AND.. Zev wanted to go back to Brunnis to see if they had a cure for immortality. Kai refuted by saying he was not aware that they had discovered the secrets of immortality.

*sigh.. and we have this guy authoring LEXX season 2 DVDs???

NeXt thing ya know he’ll screw up Nigel’s bio on the season 3 DVDs

Ah, but…In Brigadoom, Kai visits the Time Prophet on an “uncertain moon”. What would make a moon “uncertain”? The Time Prophet is a metaphysical creature who can materialize at will, outside of the bounds of time and space. Like the magic shops that appear, sell you a monkey’s paw, and split.

i may be wrong but i thought that the death chamber or whatever it was called ( it has been a long time since i have seen the movie!) was were people went who were tired of their long lives and wanted to commit suicide. but then again i think it might have been that they were hopeless about the supernova situation. again it has been a loooonnng time and my memory is rather fuzzy. would someone please clarify this for me please?
    thank you

I don’t think the memory chamber (I think that’s the name) started after they discovered immortality. One of the memory disks Stan activates shows someone getting a medal for his valor during the Insect wars, and according to Brigadoom they didn’t start searching for immortality until the war was over. I guess they used the chamber when they were about to die anyway to record their memories for posterity.

The memory chamber is a weird concept but judging from Brigadoom the Brunnen-g had an incredibly screwed up relationship with death anyway.

There must have been a time when travelling between the light and dark universe was easier and/or more common than it was by the time of IWHS.

Oh, and to confuse matters further, isn’t it kind of odd that the Brunnen-g could extract memories from the dying just like HDS?

Actually, I’m not making a point of any sort here; hungover ramblings aren’t any better than drunken ramblings.

X, you funky monkey, the only thing I was really inaccurate about was the time frame in which the Brunnen-G discovered the means of becoming immortal. And even *that* is uncertain.

    quote
Several *months later.. they left to the Light Zone where they discovered immortality and Kai and a few younguns went off to fight HDS. *sigh did no one see Brigadoom
I never said that they lived a long time on Brunnis-1 after the Insect Wars (I never mentioned them)…I said that they lived hundreds, if not thousands, of years on Brunnis-2 before the rise of HDS as we know him (not in insect form).

    quote
AND.. Zev wanted to go back to Brunnis to see if they had a cure for immortality. Kai refuted by saying he was not aware that they had discovered the secrets of immortality.
…I thought that they went back to Brunnis-1 *because* they had discovered the secrets of becoming immortal, and that they may have in their records some way of bringing Kai back to life. Kai *must* have known that they had discovered the secrets of immortality because it goes into detail about that being the reason they were unprepared to fight HDS. It has been too long since I’ve watched Super Nova, though, so I may be wrong about some points in that film.

    quote
*sigh.. and we have this guy authoring LEXX season 2 DVDs???
Idle threats my friend. I have the soundtrack to Transformers the Movie on CD

I know you said they never lived a long time on Brunnis.

Kai says in Supernova that the Brunnen G did not discover the secrets of life and death or something. The Brunnen G didn’t discover immortality until they got to Brunnis 2 in the Light Zone as chronicled in Brigadoom.

Trust me, before the Acorn DVDs came out.. I watched Supernova and Giga Shadow quite a few times. Zev was just thinking wishfully in a naive kinda way. I still don’t get the talking stars.

I think the Brunnen-G were always obsessed with immortality. The Burst of Life granted a form of immortality, in that your memories were preserved forever.
